No idea yet. We know very little about the man still, so there's plenty of backstory to go into. Maybe his nephews knew something they shouldn't have, even if they didn't know that they knew. Completely random guess, though.

The hit would make sense, even inadvertently, maybe he wasn't just a dutiful uncle, maybe he was one that felt guilty too, and Robbie is surpressing that Ghost Rider Sixth Sense because it's his uncle. When Gabe lied to him about Daisy leaving, he didn't really sense it either, at least not from a Ghost Rider perspective. Who knows, since Eli was the spirit in the car that joined with Robbie to become Ghost Rider, in past history, maybe, especially since he's alive now.

I wondered the same thing but much earlier. He was hesitant to leave that cell, even after he heard about the woman. When he heard the book mentioned, he left quickly.
I think he wants the book. I don't know if he knows how to work it. Maybe he needs her help, but I see him turning on her, to use it himself. I think he's going to turn out and be the evil one here.
We really don't know what happened the first time yet, and his involvement. -

Eli was bad in the comics and a devil worshipper, but there is probably a demon or more powerful character that is behind all of this that will become the main baddie. Eli will just be another pawn with an emotional attachment to Reyes/Ghost Rider.

I think his eyes widenened because he could fully understand the book. I am NO expert, but if the book adjusts itself based on who's looking at it, it looked like it changed the text in it from spells and incantations to engineering and mathmatical formulas, which, being a engineer, he could understand as easily as the front page of a newspaper. That's just my theory, it was hopefully more of a awed "holy beep reaction.
