It was okay. The JSA didn't do much and I was hoping they'd be around for more than two episodes. The focus was too much on Commander Steel and not the others. Then Hourman is pointlessly killed at the end of the episode.

      Can't say I agree.
I'm tired of Prof."Gray" being set up to be put down. Of course he's no leader. He's constantly boasting about something only to be humbled later. Oh, he actually got by pretending to be some German singerthen it was all shoved out of the window because
Ray is pathetic. He blew their cover. He's constantly belittled by everyone. If I were Ray, I'd take my super-suit that everyone devalues and LEAVE.
The JSA were a bunch of jerks. Though, they weren't wrong. The Legends are cluster foul-ups. That could be fun, but often it's just plain irritating.

That's my beef, too. They really over-egged the whole indecisiveness thing. It seemed quite out of character.

They didn't totally ignore the situation, but that was my thought as well.

Ray blows their cover and jeopardizes the entire mission because he refuses to do the nazi salute. That was mind numbingly stupid. Ray is such a fu*k up, he should have been kicked off the team long ago.

That wasn't stupidity in the plot, in fact I quite liked that scene. The fate of the world rested on them, but Ray was stubborn and refused to break his principles and do the nazi salute. That was a rare moment of good writing.

"That wasn't stupidity in the plot,"
Yet it was, it was incredibly stupid.
"The fate of the world rested on them, but Ray was stubborn and refused to break his principles and do the nazi salute."
Thanks for making my point about how incredibly stupid it was to chance the fate of the world because he didn't want to take three seconds do a meaningless gesture he didn't mean.
"That was a rare moment of good writing."
That was an all too frequent moment of stupid writing that is indicative of this show that can't get out of it's own way and constantly takes one step forward followed by two steps backwards.

What I'm saying is that a character's bad decision making or stubbornness isn't 'stupidity in the plot'. I called it a rare moment of good writing because it highlighted that aspect of his character, that he wouldn't perform a meaningless gesture that went against his beliefs, even when the stakes where so high. There are so many people like that, too proud to give up their principles. It would be like a patriot refusing to denounce his nation even when his life is at stake. There were so many people during that time period who refused to denounce their God, even at the time of religious persecution. Doing the Nazi salute was just unthinkable to Ray Palmer. A truly great show would've dramatized that scene more.

I knew exactly what you were saying, no need to rehash your argument, it changes nothing about my opinion of it being wrong. What you don't seem to understand is that your point about patriots and people standing up for their GOD doesn't make sense and doesn't apply because those are individuals making decisions with consequences that affect only them. Ray "dumbass" Palmer made a selfish stupid ass decision while, as you admitted,

It was, but the show still isn't nearly as good as the other DC CW shows. It was also very heavy handed and telegraphed. Professor Stein was chosen leader and instantly became a doddering old man. Of course, Ray redeemed himself in Vixen's eyes. That could have been more subtle and an arc. All of a sudden Sara is showing all these leadership qualities.

Not for me. I'd still say that Destiny is the best by a long shot.

Season 2 is better than the first so far everything so far has improved.
The budget even seems better. So far at least
