Mom may prove to be very interesting….

IMO, Mom is a very interesting character with a lot of potential for the show. For one thing, although she is in the body of Charlotte at the moment, and seems to be confined there, she is also just realizing what powers she might have. In addition to (unintentionally?) throwing a thief against a wall, she head-butted Maze (a demon!) into unconsciousness. Apparently when the body she occupies is killed, she can move into another one that had been killed recently, and resurrect it.
She is the Goddess of All Creation, so what will she discover she is able to do once she starts exploring the options available to her on planet earth? Could she, for example, figure out how to leave her current body at will, even without that body dying, and occupy more than one body at a time? Could she enter the body of a non-human animal? Apparently., from what Lucifer said, she can effect the weather and cause plagues. If she can cause plagues, might she be able to prevent or cure disease as well? Amenadiel has been very concerned about the dangers of humans getting proof of divinity. If she begins to regain more of her powers while in human form, she could become walking, talking proof of divinity, possibly with no qualms about revealing it. What would happen then? -

That would be interesting, chrisjozo! Something like that would add some dramatic conflict!
However, after the only scene they gave her in tonight's episode, I no longer hold out much hope for the Mom character. She just behaved like a typical sitcom mom, nothing new of much interest or depth. -

I agree that there
could
be humor potential, but not the way they seem to be going about it. They established the Mom character as Goddess of All Creation, and even in human form she already seems to have some beyond-human powers. So why would she be trying to cook and clean up a house? They showed Charlotte's husband to be a sort of meek stay-at-home Dad. So why isn't he doing the housework, while she sits by the pool and relaxes? That seems to me more like what Charlotte would have done when she was alive. -

I'm not sure how this can be forced upon a goddess, but I suspect that what we seeone more burnt casserole, picking up clothes and trying to understand these annoying humansis all part of her punishment. Why an all powerful goddess would subject herself to that isn't clear, unless it is an attempt to underscore her desire to make things right with her sons. She'll do this for a while, to show Amenadiel and Lucifer that she is serious, and that she doesn't deserve to be returned to hell.
No, David. No one is happy in a poodle skirt and a sweater set.

Exactly what I've been thinking.
Helfer said that Mom is really serious about getting closer to her sons, nevertheless, she's also another agenda on her mind.
I guess we'll learn about that other agenda soon enough, and it won't be neither attending culinary school nor winning the Mom-of-the-year-Award. -

Of the first three episodes of season 2, the one in which "mum" didn't appear was the best. This is a hint that the "Mum story line" is a drag.
Agree. I was expecting an ancient powerful goddess to be more like Maze - intelligent and strong and very wise and experienced, an expert on the life she helped create.
Instead we get a homely, skinny skank who doesn't seem to know much about the life at all, is dumb enough to hobble around in heels when trying to cook like some Valium-addled, deranged Stepford wife and is "Ooh, humans, yuck yuck". Really? A Creator Goddess acts like that?

A "skank"?
Haven't you figured out yet that all of these divine beings are nothing more than immature, self-involved versions of humans, only on a more powerful scale?
Just like Amenadiel and Maze, Mom is trying to figure out how to adapt to earth. On top of that, she's trying to figure out how to adapt to a human body lacking most of her powers, and to a role that she never wanted but is willing to play along with to serve her ends.
Don't sell Tricia Helfer short. This is what she's good at, lulling people into thinking she's something she's not.

But being immature and self-involved doesn't mean you're automatically an idiot. And Charlotte is an idiot. How many billions of years has she been alive and she can't figure out how to watch and learn?
Yeah, she's ridiculous.

Seems likes she's watched and learned a whole lot in just a few days.
And consider where she's spent most of modern existence. Locked in a cell with only her torturer Maze for company. She went to Hell after the plagues and floods. She'd have no experience whatsoever with anything going on in the world right now. Seems she's adapting pretty quickly to me.

She can't seem to figure out that you don't always have to wear heels.
She can't figure out that a woman alone in the night, is easy prey. That was true since the beginning of human civilization, let alone modern times.
She watches enough TV to try to cook, but not dress down. Dumb.

Maybe she wants to wear heels.
Maybe she's never been preyed upon by human men before considering she was the Goddess of creation and she saw them as nothing more than bugs?
Again, maybe she doesn't want to dress down. She's a Goddess. I don't see a Goddess choosing jeans and sneakers for her celestial attire. Plus, she's pulling clothes from Charlotte's closet who didn't seem to spend much time at home in a domestic role. Maybe this is what her closet is filled with.

Maybe she wants to wear heels.
Sure. If you're only walking for a short bit. But ALL day? Yeah no. Nobody likes heels that much.

Yeah, but she knows humans aren't gods. If she doesn't then it's another sign she's an idiot that she can't make the connection.

She didn't have a body as a celestial divinity.
You'd think natural would be her natural state, as she stripped down easily enough when Luci told her to get rid of the dress. Something so unnatural as heels doesn't click - no pun intended.

What I eager to see is if her interaction with humans will change her attitude towards them I mean, it would be nice to see her getting attached to her new life and 'family'. And maybe she will be part of the Lady's Night Tribe too is funny to see how each of the supranatural characters gets affected by human society XD I mean seriously - Maze started as a badass slutty demon, who enjoy torturing souls, and now, not only that she become independent, but she is also making friends and even got a roommate and that is Decker of all peoples XD There is potential for hilarious situations with Charlote and her married woman with childrens condition.
This situation is set to affect her anyway. In the end it seems that what she wants the most is to get her life back, so she may end up finding a sanctuary in her new family.. or an illusion of her former life. At least until this whole thing will start to affect her enought to realise that she is living a fake life and make her suffer.
Of course there is also the possibility of her being actually evil and everything turning really bad.
