How are they going to play the Flash Flashpoint thing with Arrow? Are they just going to have John Diggle have a son out of nowhere?
If so, that's just weird. What if someone who watches Arrow doesn't watch the Flash? From a storytelling perspective, that would be pretty dumb.
As dumb as it is ballsy. Someone please tell me they're not actually going to have Diggle have a random son out of nowhere!

Flash/Arrow/Legends/Supergirl are all chapters in one long story. If someone skips chapters and then is confused, they have no right to complain.

They are not all chapters in one long story. That kind of explanation is only one used as a desperate bid to grab attention and viewers for all shows when watching them all isn't necessary especially when two of them suck i'm looking at you legends and supergirl.
They are their own separate shows that have their own stories to follow. The creators stated when they first created the flash that there is no expectation that people should have to watch every episode of every show in order to understand or enjoy what is going on in one particular show. That kind of storytelling is convulted lazy and weak. Also pretty flawed as I don't know If you realise but Supergirl was originally on another network and had no ties whatsoever to the shows on the CW besides who was creating it so no there wasn't some major plan to tie all the shows together.
If someone decides that they don't like one show and chooses not to watch it that is their right and choice as a viewer and the freedom that all viewers of entertainment have. No one is under any obligation to watch something and it should not be a requirement for someone to have to watch a show they don't like in order to be able to understand what is happening on a separate show they are watching. That's one of the big issues with these stupid shows existing in the same universes. The writers get lazy and change things in one show and don't even bother writing a two minute scene to explain why this change is and why/how it happened. They just lazily say well go and watch the other show it actually happened on because we are desperate to get viewers onto our other crap shows that aren't performing as well as this particular show and we can't be bothered to actually create a coherent storyline that exists separately on its own show.
So no viewers aren't to blame for being confused about something that occurred on another show that sucks and somehow effects the show they watch because the writers can't be bothered and are too lazy and desperate for viewers that they don't explain it in a two minute scene or can't be bothered creating separate and coherent stories for each show.

I imagine that Felicity is in the scene and Diggle asks her why she's staring at his son and she makes some unintentional funny remark.

            Why is that weird ?
Diggle's son was introduced as Connor Hawke ( now that is weird !!) in Legends of Tomorrow S1. That was a potential timeline that doesn't exist anymore.
But now they can have him in this timeline. Maybe in a future Season of Legends.
            Think about it this way
In this timeline Diggle had sex with Lyla maybe 5 min or maybe even 2 min later. A different sperm fused with Lyla's eggs. And thus baby John was born
It's kind of interesting when u think about it.
