No. Why would you say that? I didn't find anything dumb about what he did or said.

Oh the character is sharp but since they dropped the time masters bounty hunter persona he carries himself like a thug again.
It would have been nice if they had used the 'he was re-educated' multiple times to have given him at least as much obvious knowledge of how time works as Rip has.. after all he 'was' one of the most prolific bounty hunters of the de-facto masters of time.
It would not be unreasonable to expect him to have been Rips second in command rather than faux canary.
Hopefully the writers will remember this and use a bit more of the potential of the character and the actor they have.

He dropped the bounty hunter persona last season itself. He's the same as he was at the end of season 1.

I didn't say he had changed from season 1, I said they wasted a good opportunity for character development and he would have been a less ridiculous choice to make his number 2 than someone like the faux canary who is too busy with her libido to focused on what she is doing

If you knew anything about Season 1, you wouldn't be asking.

I think youre mistaking Micks brutish demeanor as the total of his being. Hes a follower but he doesn't follow blindly. He holds nothing in reverence but he listens/understands when someone has a point. He doesnt say much, but when he does he is on-point. The brutal process of becoming Chronus and shedding that made him slightly more expressive, but hes not going to start spouting off high ideals/moral imperatives/faux science/his feelings. Mick is exactly what the team (and viewers) needs.

I like your description 'brutish', I still stand by my point in S2 they are under utilizing him.
He really should be have been the second in command instead of Sara if only because of his experience but also because he is completely no-nonsense about everything he does.
I wouldn't expect him to suddenly monologuing like Kirk in the original star-trek, I would expect them (the writers) the guy who has had the 2nd most experience as a time traveller and bounty hunter the deputy job vs a character whos only real experience is 'they flew the time ship a couple of times'
