Well, for the first time since the original X-men. Wolverine 1 & 2 were pretty awful but this looks like it has massive potential. That pic of the dude's severed arm with the shotgun - brilliant! Deadpool has opened up a whole new realm!

We haven't seen the effects of Deadpool yet.
No, the R rating is not because of Deadpool. We have visual proof of that. However Deadpool does have a chance to effect how comic accurate they go with character design.

I do think Deadpool will, and perhaps already has changed the demograph, or rather the age target. D.P taught us that an adult oriented superhero movie can do extraordinarily well.
I think Spawn is next up (though it's suppose to be a horror rather than a superhero film but still). Not sure if there are any future mainstream R rated superhero movies coming up, but I sincerely hope so!

The most Deadpool has done is given Fox peace of mind after having already chosen to go all in on the R-rating for Logan back in 2015. We won't see any major effects of Deadpool until the next movie in the franchise, which should be New Mutants.
          If
Logan is successful however, then Fox will be more inclined to produce an R-rated X-Force movie. When you think about it, X-Force has to be R-rated because of the massive amount of killing the characters have to do. Plus it's one of those properties that makes you question the morals of the team itself.

I'm not so sure about that mate. UNLESS the creators of Logan planned on an R rating before they knew that D.P was to be R rated and how much of a success it would be, I feel that D.P really paved the way. Would Logan be rated R without the massive success of D.P? I"m not so sure.
            Care to elaborate?

LOGAN ( aka Wolverine 3/Untitled Wolverine Sequel) was planned to be an R-rated movie early on.

Not going to happen. They're not making these films for fun. They are making them for $$$
And X-Force will never have the same appeal as Wolverine unless Deadpool is somehow the headliner and DP2 does incredibly well.

Good to hear, i'm also very excited to see what they can do with the R rating.

the fact that it's based on old man Logan (the best wolverine story) is what has me excited, and huggamutter, Logan aka wolverine 3 was always intended to be for the adult crowd right from the start, so it'll be as raw and gritty as we expected. they will be using realistic blood squibs and prosthetics by the way
