In last nights episode the "ghosts" mentioned a book, that's got to be the book of Vishanti that'll be in the Doctor Strange film right?
The marks they have around the eyes are similar the ones Mads Mikkelsens character Kaecilius has in the trailer and promo photos.
I could very well be wrong as Strange is one of the few Marvel characters I know very little about but it wouldn't surprise me if this is the case.

The Darkhold is it's own thing. Though, it's funny you mention book of Vishanti. Book of Darkhold is like the exact opposite. Vishanti has the most powerful light magic spells, Darkhold dark magic

I just found the other thread talking about this, damned ipad only showed a handful of threads so I missed it first time. I missed the name of the book when it was mentioned so I was partly right about my idea being wrong though from going on what the other thread said I'm still convinced it's tied into Mikkelsens character

Though, to force a story, they gave the Darkhold the spell that destroys vampires and the Book of the Vishanti the spell that creates them

The Darkhold is its own thing. Unrelated to Doctor Strange to any large extent aside from being mystical.
It's the root of most evil magic in the Marvel universe (Necronomicron, etc) and dates back to the ancient times. It appears in the Hyborean Era as the root of the cult run by Thulsa Doom (unrelatedly the villain played by James Earl Jones in the original Conan the Barbarian film although he is usually a Kull villain).
There was a major Marvel crossover in the 90s when they launched some new series based in their old "horror" heroes after they had success rebooting Ghost Rider (the Danny Ketch version). They gave a monthly series to Morbius the Living Vampire, Blade and his partners, a buddy series with Johnny Blaze and Ghost Rider, and introduced a new team of "Darkhold Redeemers" who were essentially in the oft-used trope of the tea, hunting the world to capture missing pieces of the book.
It didn't really take off well, but it was there. I am guessing that they are laying the ground work for a Big Bad who tried to capture the power of the book and the "ghost" scientists were the ones who got caught in the crossfire. GR's uncle tried to get the Big Bad and ended up in jail.
            So we'll see.

Actually Doctor Strange encounters the Darkhold numerous times, such as when he used the Montessi formula to get rid of vampires.
