I have a sister, who I care deeply for. I also think it is great our family doesn't stoop to retarded levels of needing our self esteem being tied to TV characters, or some other nonsense.
And most people have a mother, so.
Also, I didn't say it was anything bad, as I think a good show is about storytelling first and foremost. Even if luke cage was a girly man, and he was definitely not
The Man
as you call it, and was a well written show about superheroes, I would still enjoy it.
My problem isn't so much that it is a bad thing, but that making a point of it is not only unnecessary, but making it some big important thing probably will cause more women thinking it is a good indicator or important to their self esteem Not sure if that is a good message at all.

Honestly, fishman, just STFU. Everything isn't about you or whatever the fck you think. What the OP so kindly pointed is important to ME, as a black female viewer of the show, I love seeing complex portrayals of strong women (particularly black women) who aren't just the girlfriend, the wife, or the side chick, or in the background for a change. White males are overepresented (and white people in general)in every damn thing in the media as it is. So your arrogant white male a** shouldn't have a single damn thing to say about it, because it's not about you. That's why you're so pissed off that anyone pointed that out about the women. You obviously don't understand why that's important to non-white people, or anything else outside your little narrow-minded, small-minded white bubble. Just go the hell someplace else with your tired-a** bitching and moaning about anything or anybody that isn't white,please. Move the fck on,for real. -

Yes. I have watched shows just like that, and enjoyed them. Dark Angel, ring a bell to you? Season 1 was one of my favorite seasons ever, perhaps not top 20, but certainly up there. I would find most of her male friends, villains rather uninteresting. The lead, etc is what made the show. She was the interest.
I can go on if you like? I don't hate anything with 0 interesting guys, or 0 interesting women. So long as they can sell you a damn interesting story in doing it.
