Jessica Jones herself is a more layered Character than Matt or Luke. Former hero, dark abusive past (Kilgrave), dark childhood, Trauma sufferer. There is just more to her than the other heroes.
Kilgrave has been the best villain in the MCU to date so far. No-one has come close to his gruesomeness or sinister persona. Better than the man-child outburst Kingpin, The unreasonable reasoned Diamondback or the tragic Cotton Mouth and any other side villain.
Character driven story which is great to get you attached to the story quicker. For me it took two attempts to get into Daredevil season 1 as the first time it just didn't do anything for me and I stopped midway through Episode 1 (shocking right?). Jessica Jones I was hooked on and binge watched the season in one night. This was the first Netflix series for me. It was an interesting story which kept be hooked but also in doing so helped me adjust to the low budget of the Netflix series so I could eventually go back to Daredevil and actually complete season 1.
Fight scenes did lack good choreography or visual impact. But I even found the same of Daredevil season 1 ("WTF dude are you crazy!?" lol). Too many flips and unnecessary movements in DD's choreography. Season 2 was choreographed much better until Elektra and the Hand came into it. Somehow ninja's equate to stupid flips and useless movements somehow. Luke Cage also suffered an uninteresting final fight with Diamondback. I think fight scenes really need to be improved on all series. And for those who are unsure what a good fight scene is just compare
    This (minus the deaths)
    or this
    to
    This
    And understand that This
Is much better Choreography than season 1, so there is hope for better fight scenes in the future. I just think they need to work out how to portray powers better in fights, especially super strength (JJ/LC/IF).
Power showcasing is another aspect which let me down with DD mainly when compared to JJ and LC. Visually we can see super strength, Super jumps (partial flight), healing factors or unbreakable skin. But DD had no real covering of how his hearing works or how he sees the world as such. So in this aspect I would put both JJ and LC above DD in this category.
Well those are my thoughts, feel free to respond.

        How is it better?
Diamondback has to be the worst villain so far.
The guy is so angry and has so much hate for Luke that it doesn't justify his reasoning.
The guy decides to set Luke up and get him imprisoned. Then while imprisoned make his life hell. Then once he is out try and murder him.
All because Luke is his father's legitimate child!?
And the Joke is they used to be best friends lol.
Luke at no point actually did anything wrong to Diamondback.

I loved Luke Cage, but yes, Diamondback sucks, Shades was simply too wasted, Dillard is yet to show her full potential, and they finished Cottonmouth just as he was getting interesting.
Daredevil season 1 was great, but season 2 was kinda weak and Elektra kept getting on my nerves. Punisher was amazing though.
Jessica Jones had very few flaws, none that I can think of at the moment, and Kilgrave was a solid villain, an issue that Marvel usually fail to address well, as evidenced in the movies and LC.
So yes, JJ is also my favorite of the three so far.

Thanks man I agree with everything you said except DD season 1 lol.
Kingpin didn't come across well for me, as his outbursts felt like a child's tantrum and I didn't feel intimidation from him.
Punisher was awesome and the highlight of season 2.
And yeah Kilgrave did show that Marvel can make a bloody good villain when they put their mind to it.

Being a huge superhero movie fan especially from being a comic book nut for more than 30 years, I always give comic book movies/shows a 5 to start off with and they only go up from there.
So, in my opinion, here are the Netflix show rankings.
                  Daredevil Season 1 9/10

                  • Story 8.5/10
                  • Action 8/10
                  • Characters 9.5/10
                  • Acting 9/10
                  • (And it gets a 10/10 for helping to erase the memory of the Daredevil Movie.
                    Daredevil Season 2 8.5/10
                  • Story 8/10
                  • Action 9.5/10
                  • Characters 9/10
                  • Acting 8/10
                    Jessica Jones 7.5/10
                    -Story 8/10
                    -Action 8/10
                    -Characters 7.5/10
                    -Acting 7/10
                    Luke Cage 7/10
                    -Story 7/10
                    -Action 8.5/10
                    -Characters 7/10
                    -Acting 7/10
Luke Cage is unfortunately a story of two seasons. The first half was excellent- Solid Story, Characters everthing. But as soon as Cottonmouth exits and Diamondback Enters its goes downhill. beep story/plot makes it almost impossible for anybody to act their way out of it.
But overall I DID ENJOY LUKE CAGE!
All of this is just my opinion, but trust me, use sunscreen. 🙂

Hmmm so what was it about the Jessica Jones characters and acting that you didn't like?
I mean there was no Diamondback level bad in there for me personally. Or the weird nervous blinking guy lol.
Also did you like Kingpin in season 1? Did you find him intimidating?

OK this is a good way to rank the shows, because I find little to choose between them overall, they have great parts and terrible parts, and all suffer from horribly slow pacing.

it do everything better. there were sub storylines with the secondery charecters like the russian brothers. wilson fisk relationship with gao and the other crime lords. great flashbacks to matt childhood. the stick episode. episodes that felt diffrent from each other. great fight scenes using real martial arts. great dialouges. the flashback to fisk childhood.fisk payroll on the police. like i said dd season 1 felt like an actual universe with alot of secendery charecters and alot of twists.
Secondary characters in Jessica Jones had stories too. Like the Heroine addict in her building that used to be a musician.
There was no "real" martial arts in daredevil. No Martial arts flip around that much in a "real" fight.
Kingpin for me was a letdown with his tantrums. He felt like a child with mental issues and never came across intimidating or menacing.
dd season 2 was great up to episode 7 and after that instead of story progression they decided to spam it up to the end with cannon fodder ninja in episodes so dark that you can t even see shiet and that ugly suit that look nothing like the comics with mediocore fighting. so everything after ep 7 besides the parts with fisk in jail with the punisher and then his confrontation with matt that was amazing. besides that dd season 2 is crap. and jessica jones suffers from almost the same thing up to episode 7-8 its interesting and then jessica get the immunity powers against kilgrave and then its just mediocre crap. like shes magicklly immune to him all of a sudden instead of them thinking how to make an original way for her to win.
Her immunity was explained well and was backed up by the scene from the past that was shown early on, so it fit perfectly fine. It was made up for the series as the original way she overcame Kilgrave was by Jean Grey implanting a failsafe in her mind. And as Marvel don't have the rights to X-men or the use of mutants, something else had to be created. If you read Alias you would be shocked to see how many superheroes are involved in the Jessica vs Kilgrave story.
I would say after episode 8 it became more interesting as we began to learn even more about other characters (Patsy Walker
and the experimental drugs that will lead to Hellcat
) and even more regarding Jessica's past (her childhood and the accident).
But to each their own I guess.

there were sub storylines with the secondery charecters like the russian brothers
I found this painfully boring. The series did nothing to make me care about the characters in any of the sub stories. It was really frustrating and I just wanted it to get back to a main plot and for the main plot to develop. The characters were really shallow and cliched.
                                great flashbacks to matt childhood
Probably the part I hated most about the series, other than the scenes with Matt talking to the priest. The story was progressing so slowly, and every episode there was a 10 minute flashback scene that I just did not need. It was again incredibly frustrating and boring.
great fight scenes using real martial arts.
There was one great fight scene. None of the scenes were martial arts, they were more like brawling. One great fight scene in a 13 episode series is nowhere near enough to make a good series.

I like every Marvel Movie, and every other Marvel TV series, but because I don't like this one season of Daredevil, I don't like the Superhero genre? MMMM ok.

I like all 3 shows, but DD is the best to me - JJ and LC are about even; JJ is probably ahead a little bit if I had to choose.
JJ loses steam and gets too repetitive with Kilgrave getting captured and escaping. It feels like it should've been 2 or 3 episodes less that season. I'd say the same thing about DD season one, but JJ had a bigger problem with that. I think DD has a better supporting cast with Karen, Foggy, Ben, Claire, Punisher, Electra, and Stick. JJ's supporting cast is forgettable - I don't even remember their names even though they ate up screen time.
I liked Kingpin, but really all 3 of the Netflix shows' villains have been whiny brats on some level. Diamondback the most - I'd say Kilgrave and Kingpin are about even in that regard. I would recommend someone to watch all 3 shows and in chronological order if someone asked me.
I don't see the point in criticizing DD's action, yes, it can always get better, but other than Banshee and Strike Back - DD easily has the best action of any show ever made.
I never saved anything for the swim back.
