Why just the Earth? This is why I've always liked Dr. Who as it was so vast, even when it was being made on a shoestring budget. And even Highlander The TV series did a much better job with pre-Revolutionary France than this show. Even Star Trek Enterprise's version of TimeLords/Masters was better than this
Just saw a news report on the number of Galaxies in the Universe estimated to be around 2 Trillionwith Trillions of stars in each Galaxy! Just knowing that, the show could have tremendous potential if it explored other worlds but I guess the producers are comfy with their recreations of what they think the public will know or like. Pity that -

they said they wanted alien race to conquer earth.
the story followed rip hunter on a rogue mission to chase after an immortal human villain. but they probably have many others time masters of many races.
i bet there are many time masters from many different humanoid races in the universe, some still active in season 2.
