At it's worse, it still has higher ratings than LoT
The highest rated episodes were the ones with Oliver Queen
so like always I'll laugh when Oliver brings in higher ratings than the JSA
back to the point Arrow still has a lot left in the tank -

What did everyone expect, no Diggle, no OTA, less Olicity s4 had the highest premiere since the pilot
It's time to stop ignoring the fact Olicity/OTA is what the majority wants
I don't understand this ratings analysis. How would the missing audience know what they wanted to see was missing if they didn't actually watch to find out? -

You see? I don't get that. There is no Olicity, there is no Diggle for now at least, but are you trying to tell me that fans of Olicity and OTA will not watch the show until they come back? Why? There is still Felicity, which I assume they like and there is Oliver and from the various pictures we know that Diggle will be back. But because at the moment the team of tree and the couple are not together, fans of Olicity will refuse to watch the show to support the characters individually?

The summer before S3, Olicity Solicit, Olicity, sdcc promo had lots of Olicity, Oliver/Diggle getting their big episode
Summer before S4 Solicit is together Year of the Diggle
The trailers shows that
Before s5 season 1 season 1 no diggle, no Illicit, no OtA, years of the newbies and dead characters, felicity with someone else diggle away
Not one promo had an pta scene of something to grab onto for story for dig and felicity
Yes there is a pattern -

I sometimes wonder if you actually believe this, or if you just assume the people behind the show are complete idiots (can't blame you there), and will buy it. In either case, we will learn in a few weeks, when the soap opera is back in full force.

Are you going to tell me that Oliciters will only come back this season in episodes 4 and 5 and they don't care about everything else? The characters are still there in the rest of the episodes. Felicity and Diggle will be there. There might be OTA in the rest of the episodes, but because they don't show them in the promo people are not going to watch? That's silly.

How about Arrow season 2 rating it was not that strong overallI mean it got a 0.9 ins season 2 premiereI don't know why the trash for 0.7 as it only 0.2 difference guess the haters want something to trash about.

@Amanda, I admire your efforts, but after nearly fours years on this board, I've learned that @josuerios is immune to logical reasoning (and your arguments are very convincing!). As usual @josuerios is just parrotting the sentiments and arguments of his hardcore shipper friends, who think that the audience at large is as invested in a fictional ship and a fan-created "Original Team" as they are, and that the slump in ratings is therefore due to the lack of promotion of Olicity/OTA. They seem to think that if the pre-season promos had been all about Olicity/OTA (e.g. "Uncle Guggie" tweeting fake Olicity travel pics with himself photobombing, as he did last hiatus!) or if the S5 premiere had been full of the shlock we got in the S4 premiere ("you have failed this omelet"! etc), the audience at large would have been ecstatic and the ratings great.
That's something which I personally find highly unlikely, since most casual viewers don't follow online promotion anyway. The main reason why the ratings are low is probably because many casual viewers lost interest after the dismal fourth season. There are so many good superhero shows right now, so those who like this type of genre shows have an embarrassment of riches to choose from.
I also find it odd that Felicity only seems to have a worth as long as she is involved in a romantic relationship with Oliver. If her fans really appreciated her as an independent character, they wouldn't threaten to stop watching just because of lack of Olicity. Felicity is still a main character, and according to producers she will be getting several meaty storylines this season (aftermath of Havenrock etc.). If they appreciate, admire and adore Felicity's character as much as they seem to do, I don't understand they can't enjoy watching her and her character development, even if it won't be immediately tied to her romantic/love relationship with Oliver. Furthermore, we're only on the FIRST episode, and these Olicity fans already seem to predict that Olicity is sabotaged for the rest of the season.when anyone with some experience from CW shows know that the main couple will have "moments" and even get together again around the May sweeps. I mean, nobody with some TV tropes savvy really believes that Oliver and Felicity are over, do they? TBH, to me the fans who are throwing temper tantrums all over social media right now seem like spoiled kids who are not getting exactly what they want, WHEN they want it.
Some Felicity fans love to call other fans "sexistic" and "misogynistic" when they criticize their fave, but to me it's equally sexistic and old-fashioned to tie a female character's worth and interest to her romantic involvement with the protagonist. I mean, if Olicity fans REALLY appreciated Felicity as a character they would watch for HER sake, regardless of who she is involved with. The same thing goes for Oliver, actually. He only seems interesting to them as Felicity's boyfriendbecause if they were really interested in Oliver's hero journey, they wouldn't be spamming the producers' timelines threatening to stop watching if they don't get Olicity/OTA. especially not after this season opener, which showed a considerable improvement over last season's shoddy writing. -

I find it amusing some will try to use the dip as proof of what a draw Olicity is, when if anything shows how small that fanbase is, and that's if you assume all those who tuned in last year but not now did so due to no Olicity, it's a sizeable chunk of last seasons fanbase but it's not the majority, so it's more of a sign not to pander to them as they don't make up the bulk of the audience.
Though I don't think Olicity is a factor alive or dead, the problem is the writing or the perception of the writing, S4 left a bad taste in most of our mouths, saw steep decline in the audience by the end and a near universally panned finale, that's what is hurting the show, the cure is simple improve the quality for a stretch and people will want to watch again.
But people will always try to tilt the raw data into a narrative of their preference regardless, same data means two separate things to two different groups, also you know the show had some heavy competition by all accounts.
