I can not wait to see the DC fans who have been defending SS suddenly turn on the TC. My predictions they will call it night and day and suddenly the TC will be bad but the EC will be a masterpiece. Go on DC milk those Fanboys for every last cent.
It does start to beg the question though is it going to be worth watching DCEU movies in the cinema or should people just wait for the full version of the movie to come out a few months later?
To make a great film you need three things - the script, the script and the script -Alfred Hitchcock -

Seriously, I think fans are too dumb to pick up on this. Why constantly pay to see something in theaters/buy the dvd when they're just going to release an "extended cut" later?

Because seeing something a movie like this in the theater is a better experience than seeing it on a tv screen.
That's not my point. I'm saying why pay to see a movie that is underwhelming or buy the DVD, just to have to buy an "extended" version afterwards? Especially if that particular company/franchise has a history of releasing poorly edited and received theatrical releases

Means nothing, it will still be soft PG13.
Double standards. I used to own the XXX rated PG-13 version many years ago. I was extremely disappointed at Rob Cohen's direction of that picture with a mess load of scenes that were cut. It was until Sony Pictures have released an unrated director's cut version of XXX. I was completely satisfied and enjoyed that film. -

If there's only 13 minutes of new footage for the cut, I'm guessing most of the new scenes will involve the Joker. I doubt it's really going to win over anyone, but it at least might give a better idea of what Ayer originally had in mind.
That being said, they better not have to do something like this again for WW and JL. This is getting ridiculous. -

Which is half to less than half of the reported 20-30 removed from the Director's Original Cut. Undoubtly the extended cut will not have the same tone as the original director cut submitted to WB. The issue is not so much the directors filming the movie, but the studio creating films by committee. Kevin Feige ecountered a similar situation in Marvel Studios. Which end after he outmaneuvered and eventually disbanded the Creative Committee. The same committee was responsible the lack characterization for the MCU's villains in earlier films. Which was responsible for decision such making Aldrich Killian the Mandrian in Iron Man 3, removing scenes characterizing Ivan Vanko in Iran Man 2, and canceled scenes characterizing Malakith and the Dark Elves in Thor: The Dark World.

They're working really hard on me not spending money to watch DC movies in the theater anymore. Had BvS:DoJ:UC been a one time thing - okay. But doing this on 2 of your first 3 movies that starts sounding like a business model, and not one I'm inclined to support.
Guess I'll have to go the video game route with WB/DC movies from now on: don't buy them at release, but get them once all the DLC is available and the whole package is on discount. Or not get them at all.
