Some people resort to masturbation while others may feel a stronger need for human contact and therefore are willing to "settle" as a means to get by.

      Stronger
      desire
      .
"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".

        I do suppose
        desire
is a more fitting noun than
        need
in this case so thanks for that bit of input.

Pretty sure if Wonder Woman isn't genuinely attracted to women, she never would have slept with them in the first place. She's not straight, end of story.

This why the points have been made regarding heterosexually inclined people who engage in some degree of same sex behavior due to circumstance/environment/ absence of the opposite sex. This interestingly is the reasoning given by some writer to assert WW's apparent "queerness"

I don't think that's what Greg Rucka meant though. The implication seems to be that Diana does indeed enjoy having relationships with other women, not because of the absence of a man, but because she just likes other women.

I'm not trying to read anyone's mind and I'm sure if pressed about it the response would be "sure she's bi in general" but the explanation given "She was on and island for thousands of years with nothing but women so it makes sense" seems to fit along the lines of her being circumstantially/environmentally e.g. "prison gay".

I was trying to come up with a term this is pretty on the nose.
It's akin to a prison, even if they're keeping themselves locked up and don't stab or rape each other. Or maybe they still logically could. I don't really like to bring those thoughts into Paradise Island where they have giant kangaroos and purple laser hospitals.
But it does make me wonder about sexual confusion, which still exists even now in cosmopolitan civilizations.
It ain't quite Y: The Last Man with the boy-ladies, because they knew men and found solutions to that problem. Depending on the continuity, the last man the Amazons ever saw (before Steve Trevor) was a rapist, so it's not like men are some great thing to older Amazons.
I wouldn't put it past Rucka to include those more adult-oriented depictions of Hercules and Hippolyta. It does make the revelation of Wondy as bi seem more like shackles.

Amazons may be different and not have as strong sexual needs as normal humans. Or they may have a way of satisfying them that doesnt involve lesbian stuff. Or i may be wrong and they may have been satisfying their selfs with each other. Either way i dont really care. Personally though i would prefer if the sexual satisfaction of the amazons was left out of the movie.

I'm inclined to agree. It seems fairly unnecessary to get into. That being said I do have a level of indifference as I never had a vested interest in WW to begin with and wasn't planning to see this in theaters.
