You do realise this is NOT the comics right? So just like on Arrow where Oliver is not with Laurel. Its possable for Barry to not end up with Iris.

It's possible that Barry could turn switch bodies with Grodd for the remainder of the series an we'll see naked Gorilla Barry running around the city eating bananas and declaring "I'm Barry Allen, the fastest Gorilla alive".
That's only slightly more likely than Barry and Iris not getting together. Actually, there may be a world where Barry is a gorilla. You know who he'd marry? Gorilla Iris.

OUCH I felt that burn from all the way on the west coast. But lets be real all the detractors know this, but because they can't bring themselves to accept this they rather take comfort in the impossible, so no matter how many times the show literally spells out that this is what they are doing with Barry and Iris because it isn't what they want they will continue to cling to their delusions, personally I find it entertaining. Barry Allen is not here for the not Iris'hmm I should make this my new slogan

You mean just like all those Oliver/Laurel fanitcs who continue to bleet about how thier ment to be even though she dead now? I never said they would'nt end up together just that the writers don't HAVE TO put them together.

The writers don't
have
to put Barry and Iris together, but it's been very clear from the beginning that the writers
want
to put Barry and Iris together. At this point they've pretty much solidified that Barry's and Iris's love transcends time and dimension and is a fixed point, just like Nora Allen's death. The writers have cemented that Barry and Iris are destined to be together (because they love each other), so throwing that away and replacing Iris with say Patty wouldn't make sense with what the narrative has presented so far.

Not sure what show you where watching but it sure as hell was'nt this one. As in Season 1 Iris was too busy makeing out with Eddie and in Season 2 Barry was too busy makeing out with other girls for them to notice each other. Now in the season 3 premier they showed that more than the other two season put together. Still does'nt mean they are going to be THE couple.

What are you talking about? Season One opened up with a head over heals Barry for Iris. This was evident all throughout the season. In Season Two, Iris was too busy grieving over Eddie to address her feelings for Barry and Barry was with Patty, whom he initially didn't even want to date for the sole purpose that she wasn't Iris. Patty lasted ten days and Barry didn't miss her much once she was gone. Especially not when he stepped foot on Earth 2. By seasons end, Barry and Iris had reaffirmed their love for each other. As for your last sentence, I'm gonna link you to some accounts that have compiled quotes from the showrunners about Barry's and Iris's romance:

Yes. Barry and Iris are THE couple.

- Tumblr is just such a good source of info now is'nt it. Oh wait NO IT IS NOT its even worse that wikipedia.
- Barry and Iris have to BE a couple first before they can be THE couple. So since they have never been one. They can't be THE couple. Now they may be come this but so far they are NOT YET.
- No one has yet disproved what the OP said in that "The writer's can put Barry with who ever they want" And they have.

Just to clarify, in this case, I think even when tc-dw-tc referred to "the writers" they were not talking about fan fiction authors, somaybe keep that in mind.
On another note, thanks for bringing the humor to this thread. I only half expected it would get this hilarious.

- Why don't you try clicking on the highlighted names. Once you do, you will be directed to videos and articles where those quotes from the show runners was taken.
- This makes no sense whatsoever.
- As I've said before and I'm sure others have mentioned, the writers
can
put Barry with whoever they want. And they have put him with Linda and Patty. But the love of his life is always going to be Iris. The COUPLE of the show is always going to be Barry and Iris. You have only to look at what the show runners themselves have said about it (if you were among the few unable to glean it from the show itself) to know that.
