For serialized shows like AoS, its never a good idea to skip few episodes because u might miss some plot points which come into play later on in the season. For other shows which are more episodic in nature like The Flash you can skip episodes here and there.
There were some great episodes in Season 3 of AoS which no fan would want to miss. However if you really dont want to go back then start from Season 4. You might feel lost at some dialogue like last week when Lincoln was mentioned but you can always lookup such plot points on wiki.
    Best of luck.

I just watched the first three seasons over the last month or so, it's so much more satisfying than week to week and the inevitable longer breaks.
A show like this references so many one off characters and scenarios from previous years, that I often loose track and don't get the most out of the story.

You could also use google for best episodes of S2&3 and then just watch those. That way, you'll get a good sense of what's happened, without having to deal with the filler. There were some amazing episodes in S3 but also some really bad ones. It was hit and miss. For me, Brett Dalton killed it - his action scenes as Ward were the highlight for me, and I loved his scenes when he turned into inhuman leader Hive. Powers Boothe as Gideon Malick was also a treat.

Season 2 was fantastic, if you didn't like that one and got bored, maybe the show just isn't for you.

I don't know. I've witnessed the opposite. I have a friend who got stuck exactly where the OP did and he's struggling to go on. I've seen a lot of people who claim Season 2 is by far the worst of the series. Season 2 is interesting because it seems to divide the fans between being the best and worst season.

Maybe this shows simply not for you. If you're at the end of season two and not liking, I doubt you will like any of the latter ones.

Honestly, if you know the basics than this season is the perfect jumping on point. I'm telling friends and family that haven't watched so far to start now with this season.
Everything seems new and it's easy to pick up from here.
Coulson is no longer the director and is back to being Agent Coulson just like from the films. He did lose a hand and utilizes a high tech bionic limb now. Ward is dead and gone. Skye's real name is Daisey and her code name is Quake. Her powers create tremors/shock waves. She ended last season having her boyfriend killed as part of her actions and is now on the run from the law doing vigilante type things.
That's basically all you need to know. They are making it easy to connect the dots for new viewers.

Like Jemma said you'll want to watch it all or you'll miss a few things. I know some people who can't stand season 2. My friend actually got stuck exactly where you did and I'm trying to get him to push though it. There's a lot of narrative issues with Season 2 that made people lose interest. If you can't do it dive into Season 3. it's a huge improvement and it's a VERY good Season and very focused.

Thanks all for the suggestions, I will try to sit through it again when I have few hours to spare. If that won't help, might skip season 2 altogether.

Well season 3 is mostly the Inhumans storylines continued with a good helping of Hive/Ward storylines. There is a great more standalone episode where Simmons is stranded on a remote and strangle desolate planet that I feel should be seen, but can't say season 2 is that much different from season 3. This season is definitely going in different directions all-around. A new director, the team is mostly split up, Daisy is on her own mostly as a vigilante, the Ghostrider looks to be here all year, and a new supernatural like direction. Season 4 might be better for you or the show simply may not be your cup of tea.

                        Hey Guys,
So I dont frequent this board too often, so I apologize if this is a re-post. But I was wondering if any of you guys have heard of the Burton/Elfman anniversary music box merch thats coming out soon. I have been trying to get some information on it, but unfortunately I can't find too much (although I guess the website has a newsletter that will hopefully email some useful stuff). If any of you guys find anything, please let me know.
Heres the site incase you are interested: http://www.burtonelfman.com/

Oh that would be awesome - Danny Elfman's soundtracks are among the finest, most original soundtracks ever. The collaboration between Tim Burton and Danny Elfman is pure magic. I had always hope that Danny Elfman would do a 'guest conductor' series with a couple of our better Symphony orchestras - to hear that music performed in a concert setting would be great.
