I think part of the problem was that the first one was such a stinker
No it wasn't. Let me guess, you think "The Dark Knight," "X2" and "Spider-Man 2" are the greatest superhero films of all time.

Ghost Rider not a stinker?
Thanks for the erudite explanation for why your think it's such a stinker; I'm so impressed.

That's again you've made that specific assumption, so everyone who hates Ghost Rider (which is most who've seen it) just happen to think those 3 are the best?
No I don't think they're the three greatest though they are obviously all vastly superior to Ghost Rider. -

so everyone who hates Ghost Rider (which is most who've seen it)
Yeah, it made $230 million worldwide because most everyone hated it so much (rolling my eyes). Just because
you
hate it doesn't mean most everyone hates it.
so everyone who hates Ghost Rider (which is most who've seen it) just happen to think those 3 are the best?
It's a joke; those are the three superhero films typically touted as the best of the genre. I was just guessing/asking if you were one of those bandwagon jumpers (not that there's anything wrong with that, lol
).
I like "X2" and "The Dark Knight" is good, but definitely overrated. I'm not a fan of "Sp2" for reasons explained in my review, although Dr. Octopus was great. "Sp3" was the best of the trilogy IMHO by far, but everyone pans it; go figure. "Watchmen" is my all-time favorite superhero flick.
I have no quarrel with you because, after all, it's all opinion. You just shouldn't presume that most everyone hates a certain movie just because you hate it. I think "Ghost Rider" is eminently entertaining, although by no means perfect (they coulda done much better with Blackheart, for instance).
Have a good one, my friend.

i dont think it was that bad, the lore and mythology hinted at within the film made it more enjoyable for me, sure the movie had some extremely slow points and parts that were really shot poorly, but overall it came together in the end with explanations of everything that transpired and more.
with a very fulfilling conclusion at the end, that explained a lot about the character and its purpose.
