Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but why did dick grayson let bruce wayne adopt him? They didn't even really know each other. Did dick HAVE to be adopted by someone, because I think he was 10 when his parents were killed, or could he have just stayed with the hailey circus?
There is also a question of how the heck dick was able to adjust to living with bruce wayne, aka batman.shouldn't he have gone through some type of culture shock or something? -

I'd say the death of his parents right before his eyes was probably weighing more on his mind than any culture shock.

The circus probably couldn't afford to keep him, and without his parents, the trapeze act was pretty much gone since Dick probably wouldn't want to go back to an act that reminds him of what lost. If he'd stayed with the circus, he'd probably have been reduced to shoveling elephant dung to earn his keep.

He was just staying temporarily, I believe, before Bruce got around to revealing that he was Batman. Alfred makes a comment on it around the same time. Wanting justice for the Graysons, and similar childhood tragedies, played a big part in cementing their relationship.

I think Gordon suggested Dick be taken into different custody because he was a material witness to Tony Zuco and needed to be kept safe from being killed. The circus had plenty of people to look after him but it was more important to keep the boy somewhere that Zuco wouldn't think to come and make a threat.
