Surely the 'diminishing returns' thing will put an end to all the countless comicbook superhero films soon? Some have been okay, but after so many people got burnt by going to see Iron Man 3 - and realising it was terrible - you'd think a lot of people drew a line at that one.
It might be okay for the American producers to be totally obsessed by flooding the market with them, but abroad, cinema-goers aren't interested in kiddies' comics - the films have to stand up by themselves as simply being good films.
Very few people watching the films outside of USA know anything of the Marvel, etc, characters. Superman, Batman, Hulk, The Jokerafter that people are in the dark and certainly don't know the back-stories of lesser-known heroes/villains. The films have to tell a full story without relying on cinema-goers being comicbook nerds too - and the films have to be better than the previous ones.
There are not enough comic fanatics outside of USA to repay the costs of production, so once the general public lose interest the genre will crash hard.
Surely it'll be soonIt's like 90% of Hollywood blockbusters are superhero films and they're ploughing all their money into it.
    It's very unimaginative.
Although, all the other big-budget films being made, outside the comic genre, are even worse! Maybe we'll miss them when they're gone.

What I want to know is, when will remakes, 'biography" films starring talentless comedians trying to prove they are serious actors, Oscar-bait films about slavery/the Holocaust, white-guy-goes-to-the-hood comedies, big CGI blockbusters that think they're deep for having some basic everyday moral like 'don't abuse technology" or "don't treat other races as inferior", 'spoof" movies that don't spoof anything, stupid fart joke-laden kids movies with big-name actors needlessly doing the voices and romantic comedies stop?
Compared to that, the superhero movies are a breath of fresh air. Out of the current crop of superhero movies, they haven't even gone over four solo movies for one character yet (reboots and team-up films DON NOT count).
      You mean the movie
      lied

I think they will continue being made.

I simply can't get enough of them, so I'm hoping they're here to stay.

Ok, so you're insane. That's ok, the first step in recovery is figuring out you're delusional. If there isn't a neurological reason for your insanity then it's possibly treatable.
Doing a google search for top ten movies 2013 box office I found Boxofficemojo that lists two superhero movies in the top ten.
Looking over the list of top 100 movies of 2013 I see only 4 super hero movies. They are Man of Steel, Wolverine, Iron Man 3, and Thor 2. Can you name any other movie in 2013 that was a superhero movie?
Look, I don't think filmmakers plan on audiences be comic book nerds, but they do need people, such as yourself, to be retarded. people with apparently no lives and who get into a nerdrage over there being not enough movies that they can personally masturbate to.
It's like a really pathetic version of first world problems. "People living in fear in Iraq because of the rampant murder by Islamic terrorists sweeping the nation don't know real horror. Literally every single movie being made is a super hero movie, except the ones which aren't, and I hate those too! WAAAAH"

They will end when all studio filmmaking ends. They could outlast that though.

Someone had to say it. I agree that Hollywood of late is uninspired and lacking any basis in what one would call "film making". But getting the masses to acknowledge this fact is an exercise in folly. Some people just love superhero movies. It doesn't matter if the movie is really a loosely themed commercial. It doesn't matter if the writing gets lazier and lazier. It doesn't matter if the source material in no way relates to the feature. The only thing that matters is more superhero movies. I think it makes every other nations movie industry better by comparison because at least their features are original. I love comic books but not the billion dollar translations to film.

It's an exercise in folly because you're mistaking your opinion which is based on nothing but confirmation bias with fact. It's not.

A lot of people liked Iron Man 3.

I've been thinking about this a lot actually. IMHO, marvel is already scraping the bottom of the barrel with guardians, big hero six, and ant man. Dc can't even do superman right. Sadly, I think the next wave is going to be twilight clones.
