Agreed, these words greatly added to Manchester Black's character overall but also it was quite a brave move to use and include them in this animated feature film anyhow.
While the animation was heavily in question with this feature film, the story and dialogue obviously shone through greatly which made it stand out unlike many previous DC animated features by comparison.

I'm American and knew what those words meant. I actually laughed at it because I thought it was a great way to get around the American censors.

Totally agree that it was great to get past the censors.
I kinda got the feeling though that it was kinda symbolic. I don't think Superman even really knew what Wanker was except that it wasn't nice. Think about it that way, compare it to the whole theme of old-fashioned vs. Flashy-new and you get some interesting experiences.
I laughed my ass off on multiple levels. Awesomeness.

I have to admit it was very weird to hear Superman say "wankers."

True ,it was kinda odd to hear it from him but shows he needs to say those kind of words occasionally to show that he isn't out of touch or outdated with the modern times.
Considering the fact he also grew up on a farm in the mid-west (Kansas), Clark/Superman can't be entirely soft anyways. As i'm sure he'd have heard a hell of a lot worse things in the country and state he grew up in.

I agree - the bad language was totally unnecessary (as bad language often is).

Why? People use profanity in real life, and that should be reflected in fiction. I feel the same about smoking and guns. People may not like those things for various reasons, but we can't pretend they don't exist.
I agree that it can get excessive, but I don't think it was here.. then again, I'm American, so hearing wanker and tosser over and over again doesn't quite make me cringe in the same way a Brit would.

noone has a right to censort speech regardless of time. any person that thinks he can is a wanker and tosser and some more words that IMDB would censor. so yes, IMDB is wanker and tosser.

Simpsons used wanker in an episode many, many years ago.
This was written by an American, and an American probably only considers American curse words. I would not expect a script written by someone British to consider american curse words when writing their stuff.

Reminds me of TokyoPop's release of Cyborg 009, in the first volume they had the drunkard GB (yep, short for "Great Britain") refer to enemies as "tossers". I only ever owned that one and there were but ten, and now DAMN expensive! So AFAIK, it was just once, but still left me in the dark as to WTF it was supposed to mean.
I had heard the other before, but not always sure I knew exactly what it meant.

If you are using the "won't somebody please think of the children" defence then you really are a moron. Protip: it is the parents that allow or disallow access to content they feel is unsuitable for their children, how dare you try and censor reality to accommodate for their poor parenting.
Censorship is fascism, nobody should have the power to impose their will upon others and beep everyone who supports it, including IMDB which will no doubt block out beep.
