After watching ultimate avengers 1 and 2 i was looking forward to seeing this movie, how little did i know that iron-man isn't as good as the avengers. The problem with this movie is the plot, which is basically about trying to bring the villain known as mandarin back to life. The movie gets boring within the first 25 minutes because you don't get to see Tony as Iron-man which i could ignore if the back story was more interesting. The last fight of the movie was very disappointing and predictable. What saved this movie from being a total flop was the animation, especially the fight scenes. All of Iron-mans armour looked excellent but even that cant save this movie.

I rented the DVD on Sunday and turned it off after Tony started walking around with that thing on his chest. I could not believe how boring this movie was. I haven't had the interest to watch it any further. The guy at the video store said that he enjoyed this movie more that LightSpeed {{laugh}} for some reason, I'm starting to find that hard to believe. LightSpeed seems like something they show on Friday or Saturday nights on the Sci-Fi channel, but at least it's live action. This Ironman cartoon really was a disappointment.
Oh yeah? If that's true, my name is Princess Dragon Mom.

I didn't like this movie either. Iron-Man was getting beat up all the time, and he couldn't even do anything to the Mandarin at the end. The girl defeated Mandarin, not Iron-Man. He came up as a very weak superhero whose armor cracks easily.

That's what I was thinking! I tried continue watching this last night but turned it off when the girl was about to summon (or turn in to) the Mandarin. Iron Man was getting his ass whooped! It was sort of like seeing that Blade TV show (Ahh!!! I couldn't watch that crap, either).
Anyhow, I was disappointed in this Iron Man movie. I couldn't believe it was rated PG-13, too. There was also something wrong when listening to it in 5.1 surround. One of the channels were missing. All the gunshots, all you could here was the shell casings hitting the ground; no bang bang bang from the gun. I thought that was weird and turned off the 5.1 and put it on 2 channel and listened through the TV speakers; it sounded fine then but what's the point of having 6 speakers if you can't use them?Oh yeah? If that's true, my name is Princess Dragon Mom.

The main problem I had with this piece of junk was also the plot. Not that it wasn't interesting enough but that.. well it's a FANTASY CLICHE. And a very predictable one, at that.
SPOILERS
Fifteen minutes after Li Mei first appeared, I knew she was going to turn out to be the Mandarin. That's how freaking predictable this film was.
I posted a fuller criticism at the page below:

I agree that this movie isn't as good as the previous animated marvel films (Ultimate avengers 1 and 2) but I can't sayt that it means marvel is going downhill with theses things. I watched "Doctor Strange" the other day and it is a lot better that this one, just because some films are misses doesn't mean all of the rest will be.

i didn't like avengers either, but i was always an Ironman fan. so i thought. if this is iron man then i hate him. and please, this is supposed to be his origin? yeah "the origin of iron man is that a guy already had 15 iron man suites before he ever got hurt. oh and his life threatening injury has nothing to do with anything. oh and the girl who promised to keep the mandarin away decided to actually revive him instead, but then 5 minutes later decided to keep him away."
the mandarin was never a threat AT ALL, the animation was cheap, the script was brutal and they stole the ending from Batman Begins (buying up the stock to take control of the company, promoting the black friend, firing the rest). -

- Ultimate Avengers
- Ultimate Avengers 2
- Doctor Strange
- Invincible Iron Man
That's my order from best to worst of the Marvel animated films i've seen so far. This was really bad. I mean really bad. The big bad Mandarin was just there to cover up Li Mei's naked body. The whole use of Mandarin as a Macguffin wouldn't have been so bad if we had've got to see some more of Iron Man.

I agree with most of your points, although I thought the animation was pretty cool. If you're going to mess with the origin from the actual comics, at least make it reasonable! This method was retarded, and the writer's reasons for it were decidedly un-heroic (I checked out the extras BEFORE I finished watching the movie, that's how annoyed I was with the first 20 minutes!). Let's hope this moron doesn't write any more of these animated movies!

I hate this film! I watched it very recently - Ironman only wears the proper Ironman suit once (which is already built when he decides to help) and spend most of the time in the MK1 suit which sucks. He doesn't don it to about 30 mins in and this film is like 100 mins long! Mandarin shows up as a ghost in last 10 mins! Its really really booooring and sucks!
Rhodey doesn't even don the War Machine armour - when its right there!!! WHY!!!?
Here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women!
