I didn't like it as Boodikka is an Alpha Lantern. My wife is new to the GL mythos and I told her as we watched it "Okay that is a wrong characterization, Boodikka would never side with Sinestro against the Corps."

But was it respectful/appropriate to her character?

Well- Boodikka, to me at least, has never been that central of a character so it didn't bother me. I think it worked well in the film because anyone who knew anything about Green Lantern knew that Sinestro was going to go bad but I don't think anyone saw Boodikka coming and in the movie I think it made sense for Sinestro to have had help. Bookdikka was that help. Again- I had no problem with it.

She was never one of my favorite GL's and I like her even less as one of the hard ass Alpha Lanterns, but her betrayal in this was way out of character. It's obvious they needed SOMEONE to be Sinestro's accomplice, so they picked her name out of a hat.
But I will say that it surprised the hell out of me. It would be like..I don't knowlet's say Cat Grant shooting Clark Kent with a Kryptonite bullet and teaming up with Lex Luthor in a Superman movie. Some minor supporting character in the comics whom you don't give much thought turning into a major villain in another medium. You just don't see it coming.

First of all, she's the wrong color. In the comics, Boodikka had reddish-pink skin and black hair. Everyone's colorization was correct aside from her's, so what was the point of changing it? So that we wouldn't get too attached?
Second of all, her betrayal was totally and completely out of character. Boodikka's culture has a strict code of honor that Sinestro violates even before he becomes a bad guy, so not only would she hotly refuse him, she would probably try to kill him for planning against the Corps.
They kind of toned her aggressiveness down in this adaptation, which I didn't mind very much and it seemed like she had a lot of potential in this feature but the complete 180 "Just kidding! I'm actually a bad guy!" spin they gave us was just incorrect! They should've just used an expendable Lantern that would have been a surprise, yet wouldn't have been out of character for him/her.

Yeah the whole Boodikka being a bad guy angle with her was only thing i really don't like in this feature ,
For anyone is big fan of this Lantern but she is supposed to be in the live action Green Lantern and hopfully the second animated Green Lantern feature as well as the upcoming CGI Lantern series(with her as a good guy again)
Hopfully she being a villain and getting killed off is maybe a one time deal since that would be out of character for her in the comics

I liked it. At first, it looked like they were setting her up to be yet another shoehorned love interest. Glad they didn't go with the love interest route.

I think the reason this was done was BECAUSE it was so wrong. You didn't expect it, so when it happened it was a big shock. I get that her backstory would keep her from doing something so out-of-character, but I think it speaks to Sinestro's ability to corrupt.
