Actually that "kid" is one of the most intelligent characters in the Marvel universe. Go ahead and look him up. That being said, it was rather lame of them trying to turn the iron into its own superhero.

Looked him up and yeah, he is smart, but Peter Parker has been confirmed as being smarter than Hank Pym on a number of occasions, so I'm not really buying it. Granted, these days, Marvel likes to make Spidey look weak and stupid, so his intellectual standing may have changed.
If the king does not lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?

Marvel's official stats (which are on a scale of 1 to 7) have Peter's intelligence at 4. (2 is normal). Hank Pym officially is at 6. So is Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Mr. Fantastic.
I'm not sure where you got your "information" from.

That super smart kid exists in the comics but in the comics the Iron Spider costume remains Peter's and it really should. That was a gift from Tony. You don't just give something like that away.

The problem was Peter can't control it properly so he gave it to someone who can utilize it properly. Plus it made sense in terms of the new team Spiderman was making.
Spider Man doesn't need the suit to fight, so if someone else can utilize it properly and get more use out of it, idk what the problem is.

Clearly you never saw the follow up episode where he used it just fine.

The Iron Spider costume exists in the comic books. It was created by Tony Stark when Peter Parker worked with him. He wore it as recently as 2006.
Giving it away though was annoying

If someone needs something and you don't why would you not give it away??.

The only reason why Peter doesn't have a need of it is the lack of creativity in this show's writing. There are plenty of times when armor and flight would be useful to him. In the actual comics Spidey has a whole collection of alternate costumes for alternate purposes.
It was a gift specifically customized for him, his theme, his powers, and so on. This wasn't some spare sweater we're talking about.
A lesson on sharing was turned into a lesson of de-valuing gifts specifically made by loved ones. Peter doesn't "Need" web shooters to be effective, theoretically. Does that mean he should give them to Wolverine? He just handed over a customized suit made specifically for him to a super genius who could make his own costume, weapons, and gimmicks.

especially that episode with that vulture (remember's episode: goes mad with pure stupidity of characters, smashes some things up, comes back to keyboard, takes long, deep breaths, calms down a bit, resumes typing like a sane person should)
instead of flipping stealing a shield jet pack couldn't he just get the flipping iron spider!
it flies! it shoots missiles! it's got 3 spider/leg/appendages to do awesome beep with!
but no! oh God! that's it! i'm out!
(another) ps: flipping is just for the censors. i really want another word there. you know what word i'm talking about
