Other than some character names, this POS bore no resemblance whatsoever to one of my favorite comic titles.

Oh-I forgot-and they gave characters in this 'movie' names of former writers and artists on the comic. How witty.

I am looking into watching it because I'm a fan of the comics but where is Ted Sallis or Ellen Brandt or Jenifer Kale or anything? I just don't know if it is like anything like the actual series.
        "HIGGINS!!!"

It's not exactly like the comic but it's certainly not trash. I grew up with comic and i don't think it's that bad. in fact I quite enjoyed it.
Man thing could do with a reboot though.

I also liked the movie. Naming some characters after the writers were a tribute since the guys who made the movie were big fans.
In the end of the movie you find out that
it was the oil that turned Man-Thing crazy and after it was blown away he was finally himself again. That is why his color was lighter green and the reason he reacted like he did as if he just saw himself.
And the design was really faithful and well done and shows that you don't need CGI for everything!
