The only role I've ever liked Josh Brolin in was as 'Dan White' in "Milk" but the frustrating thing is that, on paper, he does pick such good projects so I like him for that reason, but there's something about him as a performer that I just can't warm to.

Brolin's performance in W was even better than his in Milk. Brolin's job in MIB3 was nearly flawless, because he was almost an exact clone of Tommy Lee Jones at a younger age. And don't even mention his performance in No Country, which tends to get overlooked in favor of Bardem

        His
        performance
in W. may have been better, but the movie as a whole wasn't anywhere near as good as "Milk", in my opinion
I am one of those guilty of overlooking Brolin in favour of Bardem when it comes to "No Country ", and I have no qualms about this.
and I've yet to see MiB3, so I can't judge his efforts in that although I have indeed heard that he was very good.

I agree with you on W for sure, but I strongly suggest you see MIB3. Not only is Brolin outstanding in it, but the movie as a whole is a large improvement over the second and about on par with the original. I doubt you'd regret seeing it

Broiling was the only good thing about this movie. Such a let down.

i loved josh Brolin in this. His response to dumb questions was always a low growl. Perfect for the character.
He usually does a good job: Dan White in Milk, W, No Country for Old Men and the remake of True Grit.

Josh Brolin did the best he could with a sub-par script and a horrible co-star in Megan Fox. I thought his Hex was excellent, and I think that this movie in a lot of ways is really underrated. It wasn't his best role, but I think Brolin takes a lot of flak that is undeserved for this role.

Yes, he wasn't the problem, as much as the material and the editing.
