It doesn't say he hated it, plus if you want proof that Bob Kane liked Val Kilmer as Batman, look at his IMDB bio.

Now that I saw the episode again, it's pretty cool and I listenedx to the commentary on the DVD, I never knew Bruce Timm liked Batman Forever.

"I just read a synopsis online for this episode and the animated recreation of 'The Dark Knight Returns' by Frank Miller sounded amazing. I am absolutely dying to see any and all images of this scene from the episode. If any of you know any links to pictures or anything I will worship you. Please, please, please." - joshhafner

Oddly enough at one point in the commentary on the newest release of Batman Forever, Joel actually apologizes for making the film That made me, someone who thought his two were the worst two very happy.

"probabley cause Bruce Timm hated his Batman and he and the crew made jokes about him in that episode"
On the commentary track for LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT, Bruce Timm said that BATMAN FOREVER was one of his favorite Batman movies. -

Ok, Bruce Timm was being SARCASTIC.
From Wikipedia:
"And a "dig" at the Batman movies of Joel Schumacher (and possibly a joke), in which another child (whose name is Joel and who is standing in front of a sign that says "Shoemaker") claims that Batman has "tight rubber armor" and a Batmobile that can "drive up walls" (a reference to Schumacher's 1995 film, Batman Forever) all while snuggling into the bright pink feather boa worn by a nearby mannequin. Although Bruce Timm, on the DVD commentary, says that Batman Forever is one of his favorite Batman movies, this is actually said jokingly, as he has stated elsewhere that he dislikes the film."
That's probably the best explanation..>

I love the Legends take on DKR, but I really do hate the Robin character. I appreciate why they had to change it, but that "Gotta love him!" bit is so kitsh, it makes me feel ill, especially when we've just had a completely badass Batman fight (and line.. that ONLY Frank Miller could have written, the friggin' psycho)

Watching this episode with commentary is great. Because they said after making everyone else's Batman so cool and entertaining their's just looked likesome average guy who wandered in. That made me laugh.

Poor Joel Schumacher. He'll never be forgiven for BF and B&R. BF will always be one of my guilty pleasures though.
I actually enjoyed the 50s Batman segment more than the Miller Batman segment.
And is it me or did they basically remake this episode as the "Have I Got A Story For You" opening segment on the Batman Gotham Knight DVD?
