This is the WORST score to any film ever. Any one who remotely disagrees has either a incredibly limited knowledge and understanding of music or is deaf.
Would you except a Metal score for something like The Importance of Being Earnest? No, why? Because it would sound beep stupid and out of context. This Hollywood Michael Bay Metal score just does not fit, and it makes the film even worst by making it as cheesy as hell.
A flat picking country blues would have worked for the softer underlay, Im not talking full on hilly billy deliverance style just something a little less subtle , more like the O Brother, Where Art Thou? OST, with a delta blues slide for the more dramatic bits and a more stride rag piano/ whore house piano for the other bits.
Something that sits there when it has too and adds subtle tension rather than this galloping Iron Maiden/Spinal Tap pastiche score.
Seriously Mastodon scoring aint for everyone stick to touring and making albums.
