Was it supposed to be presumed that Braniac destroyed Krypton?

When I think about it makes sense. Why else would he not want to help anyone on Krypton escape? He was just going to collect Krypton's knowledge and then destroy the planet. Like he did all those other planets.

No. Just that he did nothing to prevent it. He mentions why he didn't want to help anyone escape. It would be useless since there wasn't any time left.
He didn't start collecting knowledge until after Krypton's destruction when he figured it was his programming's directive.

Brainiac didn't destroy Krypton but he was still responsible for all those deaths since he already knew it was going to blow up for awhile but never even bothered to tell anyone.
