How many of these movies have you watched?
Edit: I remember when Titanic remained in the top spot without much competition, yet it isn’t even in the top five anymore.

That's USA only. The total worldwide grosses are much different. Avatar is at the top, followed by Avengers: Endgame. The Force Awakens is in 6th.

Doesn't mean a thing. Look at tickets sold instead in U.S. only. Gone with the Wind ranks number 1 all-time and will never be beaten.

Yeah, it seems like an unfair list with inflation and the way the value of the dollar shrinks.
Like where would Titanic fit now?
Since you seem to be a film buff before CGI and SFX took over to be the main thing in movies, it's too bad all of those top movies use all of that **** instead of something that uses acting as the main drive for it without the crutches.

It's a major, major reason why I can't watch films after 2000. I am really looking for that human quality, and all I get is robots.
As for the top-grossing films, I find it funny because they would create charts showing them but always cut them off on the left end, so that way, The Birth of a Nation and Gone with the Wind wouldn't be shown. If they did include them, it would be nearly lopsided.

Yeah, we share similar tastes in film genre.
That is why I suggest the movies I do knowing what you prefer.
They have very little to zero CGI or other SFX, mostly.

I'm sure plenty of folks hate to hear this but last time I checked, '
GONE WITH THE WIND
' is still reigning all-time champion.
Plenty of people hate hearing it because hatred for the film itself has grown concomitantly with the rise in political-correctness.
