It depends. One of my all time favourite movies is a remake: John Carpenter's
The Thing
. But there are many I don't like or don't see the point of having been remade.

Most of the remakes made are not needed. I just thought of another remake I liked:
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
, the one with Donald Sutherland.

I like stage plays or classic stories that are done. It's interesting to see what other actors bring to the table.
I'm not so fond of updated versions of an already great film.
I'm not totally against remakes.

I changed my career path based on how attractive the music is in musical theater and especially youth community theater, which I have acted and played one line keyboard parts in in high school several times.

This may be OT, but I played keyboard for this when I was 16. It reminds me of you.
I knew the whole play well whenever I played for one, when I was in high school.

Unless its something made decades and decades ago, it shouldn’t be done.
I also hate it when America remake foreign movies. They pretty much always fail.

80's remakes were vetter than the originals. 00's and later, they suck, with few exceptions.
