1941 is a pandemonium of wackiness and zaniness, but it sure is impressive to look at. Its not everyone's cup of tea, but one I've always loved.
If you do get to watch it, avoid the extended cut, way too long.
Theatrical cut runs about 118mins and is a lot tighter as comedies should be.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be helpful here since I like weird comedies and the rest of the suggestions I see are more like mainstream, hip comedies which I only found mildly amusing when watching them (such as the Hangover and Bridesmaids and movies like that).
But anyways, these are some of my favorites:
              Team America: World Police
              Freddy Got Fingered
              Tommy Boy
              Billy Madison
              Ace Ventura - both movies
              Happy Gilmore
              MacGruber
Monty Python - Holy Grail and Life of Brian

I didn't get what the big whoop was about Team America and Monty Python is much too silly for my senses. Ace Ventura was the only Jim Carey performance I don't like.

                      I love hutch — 4 years ago(October 07, 2021 10:15 PM)

"Reform School Girls" (1986) is hysterical, my favorite comedy.
                      Also…
                      "Female Trouble" (1974)
                      "Polyester" (1981)
                      "Heat" (1972)
"Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" (1997)
                      "Tootsie" (1982)
"She Devil" (1989) (movie wasn't necessarily hilarious, but I enjoyed it)
                      "Murder, by Death" (1976)
                      "Bullets Over Broadway" (1994)
"Private Benjamin" (1980) (mostly for Eileen Brennan's performance. She was hilarious.)
                      "After Hours" (1985)
                      "The Out of Towners" (1970)
                      "Desperate Living" (1977)
                      "976-Evil" (1988)
"The Four Seasons" (1981) (it's a mild comedy, but very pleasant and likable)
I've never found "Airplane" funny at all. It's not my kind of humor.

                        Oh
                        Tootsie
                        for sure.
                        After Hours
is always an interesting and off-beat foray into the stranger side of Soho.
Spoofs are hit and miss with me and one really needs to know the references to get the gag as well.
                        Airplane aka Flying High
                        is pretty meh!
                        I like
                        Lost In America
                        , thinking of Julie Hagerty.

                          She Devil
gets a quite a few snickers out of me and a lot of that is due to Streep, who is actually better than I used to give her credit for in this film.
Streep was perfect to play Mary Fisher, a living parody, as it suited her acting style down to a tee.
                          I find
                          Private Benjamin
hit and miss. There's not enough of Brennan in it and the second half is like another film altogether.
Norman! What did you put in my tea?

                                    1920
Of the three major comics of that decade, I've really come to like Harold Lloyd since the box set release of all his films to dvd, so I'm going with
                                    The Kid Brother
                                    .
                                    1930
Laurel and Hardy top the list of an amazing ten years that includes the Marx Bros, WC Fields and Mae West. While
                                    Sons of the Desert
is generally considered their best film, my favorite has always been
                                    Way Out West
                                    with the great James Finlayson.
                                    1940
A dire decade with even less to laugh about than the 1930's. Abbott and Costello dominated the field. Not my favorite team but
                                    Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein
, their best movie, goes to the head of the class.

                                    The Trouble With Harry,
one of Sir Alfred's rare attempts at comedy. It is very British in tone and that probably throws a lot of people off. Subversively amusing rather than laugh out loud.
                                    1960
                                    Too many to name, but
                                    The Producers
(the funniest comedy I've ever seen),
                                    Who's Minding the Mint
                                    (a close second) and
It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
                                    top the list.
                                    1970
The only one I can come up with at present is the ultra cheap but thoroughly crazy science fiction satire
                                    Dark Star
                                    .
                                    1980
                                    Tootsie
tops the list, although I start to zone out around the mid section when Hoffman visits Jessica Lange's country home. I know it's important to the development of the story, but coming after the uproarious first half, it really slows down the momentum.
Have to admit, I pretty much zone out from the '90's to the present since I'm not a fan of infantile and gross comedy. I'd have to see a list to remember, "Oh, yeah, I saw that one."

Any list is incomplete if it does not contain the hilarious Welcome to Collinwood.
EVERYONE needs to see this very funny movie.
