Aside from Molly Ringworm as Fran, the 90s miniseries wasn't terrible. I actually thought it was fairly decent.
Yes, I realize that you can't possibly fit a 1200 page book into a film, so in view of the topic of this thread, while the film didn't exactly stink, compared to the book? In my opinion, it wasn't as good as the book.
    Same with 11.22.63
While the miniseries wasn't bad, the book was better. In fact, Sadie, a character in that book/movie said the same thing…. 'The book is always better".
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

I liked the Robert Redford Version.

The Walking Dead stinks as an tellivision show.

You mean the comic book? A few weeks ago I was bored and wanted to see what the hype for it was, so I checked it out for the first time with no intent to read beyond the first issue. 3 days later I had read all 194 issues and agree it was a masterpiece (until the last act, which was terrible and poorly executed.) It was probably the greatest thing I have read in the last 20 years. Not sure why the TV show didn't follow it more closely. Big fail there.

On the Road (2012). Some books just are not meant to be filmed.

Every version of Great Expectations I have seen was worse than the book, but that's understandable since GE is probably the greatest book ever written. I did see one old version of the movie I liked up to a certain point, but it dragged and diverted from the book too much in the last half.

I agree it was a pretty good story. It kept me interested long enough to complete the assignments.

I haven't read the book, but Great Gatsby the movie was terrible even with Leonardo Dicaprio.
