There are no "Number 1 Favorite Movies of All Time"!
Why do you ask these silly questions???
I have lived a long time.
I have many faves! I hope to live long enough to say I have many more!
Sometimes you ask the most ridiculous SHIT!
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

It’s the single mindedness of Rocks that Hutch aptly commented on. I don’t think his mind can help it and it’s almost like an unaware projection and need for endorsement. It’s thinking that other’s minds are the same as his.
Some people do have a favourite film, but for me there are several too.

I understand.
Four months ago, I found the question ridiculous. I still find it ridiculous.
On the other hand, what I considered a great movie four or forty years ago, isn't my all time favorite now.
There is also the question of genres. Horror? Drama? Romance? Comedy? Action?

Yup! This is the main point and how I see it too.
I love
C&C's Up In Smoke
and regard it as one of my favorite comedies, yet I also love
Heavenly Creatures
, which is one of my favorite dramas.
These films can't be singled out as which one I favor more, dependent on what I feel like watching at the time and they can't even be compared to each other due to target audience demographic.

I remember Up in Smoke. I haven't seen it in years. Not since I gave up smoking that weed. I wonder if it still holds up without the smoke.
I suppose that is the point I was making. Sometimes a person isn't as interested in something they liked years ago.
No offense to you. It was a funny movie.
Heavenly Creatures is among my favorites. I think of it as a bio film. While the case was sad and disturbing, I feel that the film was excellent, and done
beautifully.

Exactly! If Anthony Rock gives it a bit more thought, and reads what you just said, he may realize that his question, "What is your Number 1 Favorite Movie of All Time ?" is a difficult question to answer… almost impossible.

Rocks is a tad impossible with his notions and projections.
I came to C&C late in the early 90's. Before that as a kid they didn't appeal to me, wasn't so much into comedy then. Once I started on the doobies, they were fun to watch.
However, (I haven't had any wacky tobaccy since 96'), I can still watch their films, and the enjoyment I get from
Up In Smoke
hasn't diminished either. That is how consistently amusing and charming I find the film to be and have watched it quite recently.
HC is disturbing, clever and imaginative. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before and is still unlike anything else made and being a true tale, and that I find it so darn brilliant, (and yes, it was beautifully done), just wows me.
I may be a little biased here though, because it was a NZ film and I grew up there. It was nice to see a quality film come out of their deadwood film industry.
*As a side note, did you see my thread on Late 80's Slashers?

It would be nice if he were actually interested in talking about some of the things he cranks out. On the other hand, maybe he cranks out all of these threads in order to get everyone else talking.
*As a side note, did you see my thread on Late 80's Slashers?
No. I haven't seen it yet…
*As my own side note,
It was only a few years ago that I realized that Melanie Lynskey, who played Rose on Two and a Half Men played Pauline Parker in Heavenly Creatures! It was her first movie role. She certainly grew up to be a pretty lady. I like those little pleasant surprises!
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.
