The middle-class bourgeoisie always need someplace to show themselves off in the grand act of tossing money around.
And not enough of them are hip to the opera or symphony, theater. So film is a natural.
It travels well, which is good because many fops reside too far away from big cities.
On the side of the good: festivals rake in a lotta moola and give aspiring talents a means of networking.
I've come away with a bounty every one I've participated in. Nice bragging rights when it comes to the eternal chase of skirt.
