She could not have died at a worse time

I actually think Robin Williams was a nicer kinder person off screen than Lauren Bacall was. Baccall apparently was well known for being rude and b*tchy to others, for seemingly no apparent reason. I've heard plenty of stories about how difficult and mean she was to people she perceived as lower than herself. This is in contrast to Robin Williams, who not only supported charities without publicity, but treated everyone, including normal people, with kindness and dignity. Baccall may have bee a Hollywood legend, but her diva behaviour was typical Hollywood. Williams was much more rare, nearly everyone loved him, off screen and on.

fifacup, you are correct.
I saw it first hand when I was at USC in the early 90. She came there for a luncheon and than to speak.
Was quite excited to see her, but was very disappointed in her behavior.
She was quite full of herself, didn't smile at people.
She wasn't a nice woman. -

I never was a big fan of Robin Williams, so the passing of Lauren Bacall touched me a lot more, than that of Williams. Sadly, her death was just a footnote, compared to Williams' death. Especially in a country like Denmark, where only few people actually know who she was. She was a great talent, and she IS missed. She gave THE best acceptance speech for an academy award, I've ever seen. May you rest in peace, and finally be together w1908ith Bogie.

Death is not a competition. Her fans will miss her, just as people who did not know of her or did not care for her perhaps won't, so much She will always be remembered by the people who appreciated her, and that is all that anybody could ask.

Lauren Bacall and Robin Williams died within two days of each other. Many of us know and will remember, and tell our children and grandchildren about these people. TCM is still up and running and will show these people at their best.
