I love Hausu. I have it on Criterion Blu-ray. I enjoyed Charade. I liked Island of Lost Souls and have it on Criterion Blu-ray. I haven't seen Take the Money and Run or The Plague of the Zombies , but they both sound interesting.

I can watch anything he appeared in so I’ll just choose one that wasn’t mentioned. In A Lonely Place which is not only a terrifically bitter love story but also features one of my favourite lines.
Laurel Gray : I said I liked it - I didn't say I wanted to kiss it. -

Probably HIGH SIERRA. It was my first Bogart movie. I liked his complex character. He was tough but vulnerable.
I didn't like Jack Palance's interpretation in I DIED A THOUSAND TIMES. He was too menacing, too intense. He didn't have Bogart's charm or likability. -

Yes it was, but it was out of place when playing a character like Roy Earle. It was Bogart's performance in HIGH SIERRA that made me a fan. I was drawn in by his warmth and character.
It would be like Palance taking on other roles made popular by Bogart and not displaying any of the charm and likability. Imagine Palance as Rick in CASABLANCA or in TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT. It would have been awful. -

Such a brilliant movie. I read that Bogart wasn't happy with the movie or his performance though. -

Among Bogart's less celebrated roles, I often come back to THEY DRIVE BY NIGHT [1940]. Yes, it's one of George Raft's finest hours as a star, but Bogart holds his own in a time when he was popular but not a superstar.

The African Queen and Treasure of the Sierra Madre sucks balls!!!!
That moose guy is correct: terrible taste for any moron to place Casablanca in the middle, after these "critically acclaimed" turkeys!!!! Sabrina is better but stars the dreadful, full of herself audrey hep burns which I can't stand.
