I've always thought of Audrey as Belgian, but mostly by birth. She does have some English ancestry through her father and had a Dutch mother. She did live in London for a time. She spoke five languages fluently.

exactly me too. even more than marilyn monroe she somehow seemed like an alien or angel or otherworldly superhuman person. she didn't seem real. she seemed to perfect to be real and she talked different than any actress i've ever heard talk.

still didn't answer my question though which is why was she america's sweetheart? more than any other actress, she was the most popular and most loved actress in america in hollywood in the '60s.
