Never saw him in the cafeteria but I remember him well. I think I sat at a table with Jerry Kenny. My memory of the time is fuzzy. I looked at the '71 and '72 Yankee rosters on line and for some reason associated his name with the cafeteria. But possibly Gene Michael.
Do you remember Emmett Ashford, the first Black major league umpire. I met him at the stadium and told him I used to umpire little league. We became friendly and I used to ride home with him on the "D" train together whenever he umped at Yankee. We both got off at 7th Av, him for his hotel by the station and me to change for the "E" to Jamaica.
