First time I ever saw him was in an Adam Sandler movie. He played crazy eyes.
First role I saw him with an actual part and not a cameo was Ghost World

Actually, it was Monsters, Inc. Which would've made me 14. Whenever I fall in love with an animated character, I typically do some research on his or her voice actor if I'm not already very familiar with the person. I remember watching the MI DVD interviews and thinking that Steve was really cute, and wondering, "Where have I seen that guy before?" So I went and found a lot of his movies, and quickly fell in love with him as well. He's now among my very favorite actors, and some of the other things he's been in became favorites of mine, too. (This has happened to me many times, especially with Pixar movies.)

I first noticed him as Donny in The Big Lebowski - John Goodman kept telling him "shut the f*^k up Donny", and he kept saying "I am the walrus", and Goodman just kept getting madder and madder! I think I'm going to have to watch The Big Lebowski again now! It's a shame he had to die in the movie, but he even got the last laugh on Goodman in the "ashes" scene! Don't miss him in Fargo, too - very much a darker role but as in any Coen Brothers movie there is still a dark comedic tone to his role.

Me too. Resevoir Dogs was the film he caught my attention for the first time. Been a fan ever since. Especially like him in roles like Trees Lounge and Ghost World, but always get a kick out of the wacky cameos too.

For me it was 'Reservoir Dogs', having missed 'Barton Fink' in the theatres (saw it later on TV). I have always felt his strange appearance was helped (in 'Dogs' his costume definitely appears to have been shortened to emphasize his lankiness). His characterization as 'Funny-looking' in 'Fargo' seems to be a Coen Brothers in-joke, one that has stuck with the actor. If anyone ever does a John Waters bio-pic, Buscemi is perfect for the job.
