Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Steve Buscemi

    snepts — 9 years ago(July 10, 2016 06:55 PM)

Everyone says I look like Steve Buscemi.
At first, it bugged me. One day about 10-15 years ago I was chatting-up a pretty bartender when some fat friend of her's butts in and says, "He looks like that guy from that asteroid movie, dudn't he? Haw-ha-ha !" Man, I was burning with embarrassment and pissed-off. Then it kept happening. I realized I had to deal with it and not get PO'd.
So another day a couple guys a tavern sit down and one of 'em says "Hey, did you know you look like Steve Buscemi?" I said, "You remind me of someone in the movies as well DUMBO!!" I was a little worried the guy would get pissed, but his buddy was laughing, saying, "That was funny. You gotta admit, that was funny." So the first guy says, "I guess you don't like Steve Buscemi?" So I fumbled, saying "He's not exactly Clooney or Pitt, is he?"
Anyway, I've learned to embrace it, and the more roles I see him in, and the more I read about him, I realize people really like him, so even though people always laugh when they say I look like Steve Buscemi I figure maybe that's not such a bad thing. Viva le Stevie B. And while we're at it, Stevie Wonder, too !
I'm not a woman, much less Deanna Durbin, but the old-time glam-shot appeals to me.
