I just heard that there's a new Dracula in the making and Cage is in it. I've only read it, and tried to find more info on it. And it's not about Vampire's Kiss, this is a serious take, allegedly.

Updated: 15:54 ET, Mar 24 2022 NICOLAS Cage looked totally unrecognizable with pale skin and purple lips as Dracula on the set of his new vampire movie. The 58-year-old actor is currently filming Redfield, a vampire movie that is set to come out next year.
He will play Dracula
in the upcoming film, alongside Nicholas Hoult, who stars as the titular character.
Renfield is directed by The Tomorrow War's Chris Mckay.
The actor looked like a true vampire with pale skin, long fingernails, slicked-back hair, and colorful jewelry.
Nicolas was dressed in a red, velvet suit and black boots, complete with purple lipstick.

PS: I agree, with Cage it's hit or miss. Who knows what this will end up being like. Off set pics look a tad silly, even camp, but once photography starts, who knows.

You're correct:
"What makes it super fun is that it's a comedy. And when you get that tone right — comedy and horror — like American Werewolf in London, it's a blast," continued Cage. "It's got to be a bullseye. But that's what I'm looking for, something new to bring to the character and also that perfect tone of comedy and horror." -

I'm trying to figure out how they're going to have him play such an iconic character.
I hope this doesn't turn out to be some sort of slapstick, or an abomination like Burton's remake of Dark Shadows, which was insulting.

I have to first wrap my head around not remembering his vampire performance in Vampire's Kiss, and watch his performance with fresh eyes. However, as with all of Cage's performance, as NZer pointed out, it's hit or miss. When he's on, he's definitely on and it works.
