He actually left a man blind in one eye after beating him with a stick to steal his case of beer and never once showed any remorse, regret and never apologized for it and the justice system gave him a slap on the wrist for it.

Jim Carrey is entirely right about this. Will Smith should have been escorted out of the building and arrested on assault charges. Last time I checked, battery and/or assault was a felony.
