The Last House on the Left. Craven
s first film is a documentary-style film. The murder sequences are effective. It doesnt always work like the two dumb cops subplot. It has many disturbing scenes and the ending is a knock out. (B+).
The Hills Have Eyes. Cravens second film is a cult classic about middle-class people on vacation are suddently got stuck in the desert of New Mexico in a the middle of nowhere in a off-road terrority. Never expecting theres cannibals there. The recent remake is just as good as the original and offers different themes as well. (A-).
Summer of Fear. Cravens first "TV Movie" is pretty decent with a good performance by Linda Blair. Its about a teen girl, whos cousin is staying with her family in the summer. Altough her cousin is not what she seems to be.(B). The Evolution of Snuff. I never seen it. Deadly Bleesing (I seen only parts of it). Swamp Thing. A major camp classic now. (B). Invation to Hell (TV Movie). The movie has interesting finale, its very campy. One of Cravens least entertaining movie. (C). The Hills Have Eyes Part 2. Cravens worst yet. Only worth watching the infamous Dog Flashback Sequence. (C-).
A Nightmare on Elm Street. One of Cravens best. Some flaws here and there. Ronee Blakelys performance is the weakest part of the movie. (A-).
Chiller (TV Movie). It has a fascinating premise. Some good performances. Probably his best TV movie to date. (B).
Casebusters. (TV Movie). I never seen it as well.
Deadly Friend. Craven wasnt happy with this. Especially when Warner Bros made Craven and the writer make some silly changes to the premise. Some classic sequences, especially the infamous Basketball murder scene. (B+). The Serpent and the Rainbow. One of Cravens best work as a filmmaker. Craven shows a lot of behind the camera. Technically well made to be sure. It went on to have a cult following. (A-).
Shocker. Cravens reimagine his "A Nightmare on Elm Street" for better or worse. It has some fresh ideas. Excellent Special Effects and Great Heavy-Metal Soundtrack. It is one of my favorites as a Kid and still is. (A). Blue Visions. (TV Movie). I never seen it as well. The People Under the Stairs. Another film about Cannibalism but this time in the rough places of suburbia of Los Angeles with two freaks. Prephas Cravens funniest film but its occisionally sloppy filmmaking at times. Modestly entertaining and fun for the fans of Craven movies. (B+). Wes Cravens New Nightmare. Craven re-imagines his Freddy Character to the next level by focusing on the lead actress of the original and crew members of the first as well. Which Freddy exists in the Real-Life in some way. Its scary at times, good performances and Craven has a eye for imagination. (A-). A Vampire in Brooklyn. Eddie Murphy in a Craven movie sounds odd. Murphy gets to play a nasty vampire, which its fun for a while. But its suffers from too much comedy. Craven admits there were many scripts changes, because of Paramount. Which didnt make Craven and Murphy very happy. Only Angela Bassetts performance as a police detective makes it worth watching and of course, some good goofy gags with Murphy. Cravens oddest movie, so far.(B-).
Scream. Craven spoofs the horror genre in a Realistic way. Many good performances. Smart dialogue by Kevin Williamson. Some memorable suspenseful and gory sequences. Some were trimmed for a X-Rating. One of Cravens best. (A-). Scream 2. Craven and Screenwriter Williamson are back for the sequel is just as good as the original. The cast seems to be having a great time. The opening sequences film within a film with Heather Graham is one of the best parts of the sequel. The film that spoofs "Scream" Stab is directed by uncredited Robert Rodriguez. (A-). Music of the Heart. A change of pace film from Craven. Meryl Streep is excellent as usual. Since this film is based on a true story. Bassett is in a supporting role as a tough principal. A good drama that is occisionally slow at times. Worth a look, Craven fans should check it out as well. (B+). Scream 3. The last of the "Scream" movies is fun for the die-hard fans of the series. Some enjoyable cameos here and some good moments of suspense. (B+). Cursed. Craven and Screenwriter Williamson are back but this time tickling on Werewolves in Hollywood! It starts out well but then its gets silly and sillier by the minute. But still fun thanks to a game cast, some witty dialogue and above average special effects. The original production of the film had a different cast and special effects were originally done by Rick Baker. I would love to see the original version or as deleted scenes one day. Fans of Craven and Williamsons work only. (B+). Red Eye. Craven certainly had fun making this thriller. Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy are excellent in their performance. They make this suspenseful-thriller work. One of these thriller that works well under 90 minutes. (A-). Paris, Je Taime. Cravens segment "Pre-Lachaise", i havent s -
