he's NOT FROM MIAMI!! wikipedia says his school was in BROWARD county. Miami is in Miami-dade county. these are two physically and geographically distinct places. jesus horatio christ.
i think he's a very good actor. what the future holds is questionable. the sordid details from the recent trial may constrain the types of roles he plays and also the content of the scripts so as to minimize the "cringe" factor.
on the other hand, Depp being depp: he may embrace the moment and go beyond the cringe and do a deep end Depp and take it to the max -

I was BORN in Fort Lauderdale. I grew up in Southeastern Florida, Northeastern Florida, and New Orleans. I mean, I happen to like it and know about it.
It looks like "time is ticking," and like anyone he may be too old for some things, unless he does something "outside of the box."

I've always been a fan of his and I love the diverse characters that he plays with such enthusiasm. I only wish that he'd weathered out the midlife crisis and stuck with Vanessa. He'd be a far happier man now, I think.
