he's one of the best actors of all time. but he'll never get the respect he deserves for his great acting. i think the reason why is to most people he's viewed as a movie star, a leading man, and not a great actor. this is so wrong. he needs to get the respect, admiration, and accolades he deserves for his body of work in acting.
now he's a tier below robert de niro in terms of acting abilities, and talents. but that's tier 2 of the best acting that there has ever been.

exactly i mean there's a reason why he's worked on such diverse movies and made such diverse characters in these movies. put it this way he's a better actor than sean connery and that's saying something.
do you agree he needs to get more credit and recognition from hollwyood. like a lifetime achievement award and an oscar for his acting?

Definitely one of my favorites.
I heard somewhere that he liked to chose roles playing an "ordinary" guy thrown into extraordinary situations. That sums up a lot of his films.

He's not a good actor at all.
I like Harrison Ford a lot, but he has never really acted in anything.
Acting is where you can take on the personality and traits of totally different characters. He doesn't really do that, ever, and he's more of the "leading man" type of actor.
Once again, Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, and so on are more like "themselves" on screen and they never play characters.
Harrison Ford is typically a great "presence" in films and stands out as a leading man, but I don't think he's acting much. -

I can only assume you’ve never watched Ford’s films. His roles in Witness, Mosquito Coast and The Conversation were completely different to Indiana Jones, Star Wars or Blade Runner.
And saying Tom Cruise/Jack Nicholson only ever “played themselves” is ignoring most of their best roles.
Going by your logic then we would also say De Niro, Pacino, Paul Newman, James Stewart, were never great actors simply because they never became unrecognizable with makeup or putting on a fake accent. You seem to have a shallow perspective on what acting actually involves. -

I dunno what you are going on about.
He gets work all the time.
Has been some of the most iconic characters in epic movies like SW, Raider, Amer. Graf. and AF1 etc.
Is married to a cute looking and younger trophy wife that he gets to bang.
And he has more money than all of us put together here on these boards.
So why feel bad for him at all?
