Just because she drove DUI, injured someone almost killing them and ruined a house and died from it does not get a free sympathy pass in my book.
Stupid bitch made a mistake and paid the ultimate price for it.

Thankfully no one else was injured and the people whose house and belongings are lost will be fully compensated
I'm not unsympathetic to someone who was obviously troubled and suffered from mental illness

Definitely not all kinds of wonderful while driving stoned out of her skull. She was lucky she only killed herself. If Heche had taken a few people with her she might not be remembered so fondly by others.
