Brilliant in Donnie Brasco! She adds another element to this male-driven drama that would not have been the same without. I started thinking of universally praised actresses like Jodie Fosterbut this lady is every bit as good. You can see she's got all the chops!

I was thinking the exact same thing. I vaguely recalled her from Donnie Brasco when I saw her recently on HUNG on HBO India and she seemed as brilliant as then. Why she isn't a huge star some people on at IMDb boards are of the opinion that her experiment with lesbianism killed her career, though I don't necessarily agree.

This role could be ungrateful, the nagging non supportive wife who becomes the victim.
But Anne Heche moves away from that and manages to make the audience care for her. We understand why she is like that.
And she manges to make her a strong woman, instead of the nagging victim who complains all the time.
Underrated indeed! I haven't seen that many Heche projects, but in those I've seen she always shone.
I liked her in that guest role on "Ally McBeal", where she played Melanie, the Tourettes syndrome girl who became John's girlfriend.
She was very good in that role.
her role in Nip/Tuck was also very good, and showed a new side to her acting.
