The lady with the sign telling Trump to get the hell out is the one who rescued the
      Carrie
manuscript from a garbage can and thus launched her husband's career. I'm assuming the other one is just a fan who happened to be there.

        I never read King.
All I could do was say to him, "Hey man. I loved the movie Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me is a classic and the flick Misery was good. As for Carrie? That one should have stayed in the trash!"
        LOL

I've read everything by him, even the one that is banned and goes for hundreds of dollars on eBay. Except the nonfiction Red Sox book. Couldn't finish that one.
I suppose I'd ask him to consider finally including some of his early short stories in a proper book. Particularly "Weeds" and "The Crate," both of which he incorporated into his
          Creepshow
screenplay, even taking the lead role in the former.

What did you think of Maximum Overdrive?
            The book and/or the movie?
Isn't that like an extension of Christine of sorts?
Same idea of vehicles becoming sentient to destroy and kill.

Yeah, it's the same basic premise with the biggest difference being a single car being possessed by it's previous owner vs. all vehicles becoming sentient. "Trucks" (the short story) actually predates Christine by about a decade. As for the movies, Christine is my least-favorite John Carpenter film of the '80s but I still like it and Maximum Overdrive finds King (as screenwriter and, inexplicably, as a director) at the very peak of his coke era 😂 Only surpassed in terms of sheer weirdness by
              The Tommyknockers
the next year and his post-accident, Oxy-fuled
              Dreamcatcher
in 2001 (the one with the **** weasels).

Did you happen to see the movie The Mist with it's controversial ending which I understand differs from the book.
Do you have a preference of ending?

The ending of the movie is better. That isn't the case for Cujo, though. The ending of that book is bleaker, but also more effective.
