She's actually a pretty good actress. She just hasn't been in a ton of good movies. She doesn't get respect because chick flicks are easily dismissed and she's known as a diva. But talent-wise, she's solid.
Of her movies I've seen, she's good in Money Train, Enough, An Unfinished Life, and Angel Eyes. I've heard she's good in UTurn, Hustlers, Selena, and some others. -

Not a fan of Lifetime movies but Jennifer was good in this one. The Boy Next Door.
A woman, (Lopez) separated from her unfaithful husband, falls for a younger man who has moved in next door, but their torrid affair soon takes a dangerous turn. -

She's mostly reliable and seems to be weak at comedy (esp. her How I Met Your Mother appearance).
She was solid, believable and dedicated in Angel Eyes, Selena, Parker, Shades of Blue, Out of Sight, Lila & Eve and even bad movies I didn't care for like Hustlers and The Cell.
Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't.
