I just saw Freedomland and she was so distracting throughout the entire movie. I felt the same way watching her on 30 Rock. I'm sure she's doing some technically correct accent but think of Meryl Streep and "The dingo ate my baybee!" It's just so off and awkward it ruins the entire movie.
NO more southie or weird accents. -

Her accent in 30 Rock was so distracting. I understand that it was a comedy and the accent was supposed to be exaggerated, but it seemed like she was concentrating too hard on it.
I also wasn't too impressed with her Sarah Palin accent - at times it was spot on, but at others it sounded exaggerated and nothing like the real Palin.
She's a great actress, but accents aren't her strong suit.

I don't know why people put down Meryls accent in a cry in the dark. What people don't realise is that she's doing a New Zealand accent. Not Australian. And New Zealand accents are odd and funny sounding and exactly how she portrayed it. As for Julianne. I heard snippets of her accent in maggies plan and wasn't impressed
