So we all know that there is only one Meg Ryan, but she also represents an archetype. I wonder if anyone has any picks o

Exactly. All it takes is the right slightly pretty slightly plain girl next door type to have the right role. A girl I know might even become her mini me, and appropriately so if you know what I'm hinting at.

I like Emma Stone a lot, she has comedic chops for sure. If you want to know what really killed the great romantic comedy, look no further than Judd Apatow. The women in his films are painful, nothing attractive or likable, and that's all people seem to pay for these days. I miss the strong comedic ladies in films such as "Brigette Jones", "Notting Hill" and "When Harry Met Sally". Now we get crap like "Trainwreck", "This is 40" and "Knocked Up". So depressing.

I agree only ONE Meg Ryan, I can watch her movies over and over - LOVE HER!
Now their is an actress who is not well known right now but check out some of her movies she's done - mostly Hallmark and Lifetime but she has this "Meg Ryan appeal" about her.
Meredith Hagner
is her name check it out on the IMDB page.
She's also in a serious relationship with Wyatt Russell (Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's son); She's just so talented and she also can write her own music and has a fantastic singing voice as well but I'm seeing her doing some cinema Rom-Com's in her future b/c she has the IT factor. Please check her out on here IMDB. -

I checked on her! Indeed, she has a strong resemblance in looks and character. Since I wrote the original message, I found another Meg Ryan type for my short film. She is a very young actress who has not been in anything yet (she recently moved to Los Angeles from Arkansas). You can see excerpts of her performance on the FB page of my short film (which is a bit like Sleepless in Seattle): https://www.facebook.com/inadream.short/
.. I am also thinking of making a feature now in the vein of "Jewel of the Nile" and both her and Meredith will be on my list of possible actresses for the lead! -

Her shoes were filled by reese witherspoon for the longest time now they are vacant.., Brie Larson could fill them if she did less drama/method acting then again less and less romcom are popular these days
